Good to see someone doing something other than offering up useless thoughts and prayers.

I would boycott if I didn't enjoy buying cheap stuff.

Good news. Now I have absolutely zero reasons to go into Walmart.

It was your go-to place for ammo?

It’s the only place for ammo in some neck of the woods. I’ve bought it from there in a pinch during deer season.

Do you hunt with an AR 15 or other assault rifle? Sounds like they will keep selling ammo for hunting.

Wonder how they are going to decide which calibers are used by "assault style weapons". ARs come in like a dozen different calibers.

“Walmart also pressured Congress to enact gun safety measures”

Good for Walmart. Try to take the high road.

Oddly enough, a lot of people deer hunt with AR style weapons. Never understood that, there is a pretty finite limit on deer. If you need a 25 round clip for deer hunting, you probably shouldn't be deer hunting.

Actually “a lot” don’t. High capacity magazines are illegal in deer hunting. People use them for pig hunting a lot for good reason. Some people do use ar platforms for deer hunting with small capacity clips. But who cares?

Actually a lot do. Your assumption that high capacity magazines are illegal doesn't seem to grip the fact that laws change by state.
GA: DEER & BEAR • Modern Rifles and Handguns: Centerfire only, .22-cal. or larger with expanding bullets. There is no restriction on magazine capacity for rifles.

You do know that an AR 15 is not an "assault rifle"? Only military and people with specialized permits that are not easy to acquire can have "assault rifles".

It's nice that Walmart is doing it's best to target the real problem here, handguns. More murders are committed and more "mass shootings" are committed with handguns and its not really close, especially for murders in general.

On the other hand, I don't open carry but I'm not sure how that will help stop any shootings inside Walmarts or any stores for that matter. If anything it will make them an easier target since a nut job that wants to go out shooting will know there's no one there to stop them.

I don't think it makes them an easier target, people can still carry in Walmart, just not open carry.
IMHO, only a fool open carries anyway. Why give away the element of surprise?

Edit. If I recall, the last time a CCW tried to stop an active shooter in a walmart, it ended badly for the CCW. Stuff like that is a little more difficult than Call of Duty leads you to believe.

I’m not a fan of open carry in public.

I wouldn’t even if I was in a state that allowed it.

The only time I’ve open carried was while I was hunting.

How Walmart will stop selling ammo for assault rifles.....

“After selling through our current inventory commitments, we will discontinue sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition such as the .223 caliber and 5.56 caliber that, while commonly used in some hunting rifles, can also be used in large capacity clips on military-style weapons;”
