Interesting that Kubicz and Kharitonova have both already been removed from the roster. Not exactly a surprise, but that sure did happen fast.
Would assume Katie goes to a lesser program where she is a better fit....better for both sides. Kharitonova has the upside, shame she couldn't figure it out. But not playing the last half of the season pretty much indicated this was coming.
This roster needs one player that can impact and play at 1 or 2. That's not an easy order, but not sure they can get back into the national conversation without someone to match with Ida at the top. Think they should be a border top 8 program as things stand now, not bad but not the UF standard.

Katie is transferring to Stetson. I won't be surprised to see UF sign only one player for next year and then pick up Alana Wolfberg as a transfer for the Fall of 2020. I don't believe that UF had a scholarship available for the Fall of 2019 so UF was probably not an option for Alana at the time that she signed with Ok State.

We talked about her before, great great athleticism...multi sport athlete. That expectation might be a little scary, easy to get to a program and get close with team and staff and want to stay. That said, it's Stillwater lol

Ok State recently added players from Belgium (10.70 UTR) and Kazakhstan (11.04 UTR) to its Fall 2019 class which already included Alana (11.17 UTR) and a player from Japan (11.68 UTR). Three starting players graduated and a fourth part-time starter (the National Junior College Player of the Year in 2018) transferred to Arizona State. The three returning players with starting experience have UTR's of 11.45, 11.38 and 10.97. By comparison, UF only has 2 players with a UTR higher than 11, Jarlskog (11.33) and Kessler (11.33).

Just saw Alana play this week. She ended up losing to a former Okie State player (Megan McCray) in the second round of qualifying. Megan just got knocked out in the quarters today by Victoria Emma.
Alana is a solid player, she just happened to run up against a really good and experienced player.
Are we down to six on the roster?

Yep, six on roster at present. Have to assume a transfer or international player gets added before spring

Absolutely have to. I would think two. At seven, and you're a couple of injuries away from an absolute disaster. We were fortunate no one got hurt a couple years ago when we were down to six.

Lauren Embree has been added as assistant coach, she seems to be a rising star as a coach. Did a nice job as assistant at Pepperdine.

Dave Balogh is no longer listed as a coach and there is no mention of him in the Embree article. Very bizarre, a guy who played at UF and then been a stalwart coach for the last 20 years is gone with no comment.

Balogh's contract was likely not renewed. He probably should have taken a head coaching job somewhere else a few years ago but Gainesville is a great place to raise a family and no one could have anticipated the program's recent struggles. Embree may have an easier time connecting with recruits than a forty-something male assistant and UF needs an immediate infusion of talent if it is going to return to its status as an elite program.

Yeah.....I was just a little taken aback at no mention. Dave been there a long time and was part of some amazing success.
Hope Embree can infuse something new. Seems like Coach T has been the primary recruiter pretty much his entire tenure, I put roster management (both good and bad) on his shoulders.
Vicky Duval listed as an assistant as well, I like that addition too
