We are looking at adding video conference equipment in our conference room instead of everyone doing it individually at their computers. We already have a large smart monitor and don't want to pay a monthly service other that our Zoom subscription. Any ideas of what we should get?
Conference room is about 12' wide, 20' long. We would maybe have 5 or so people at the most. Budget of a couple grand. Thanks.
We used to use LifeSize equipment but have since moved on. Poly (aka PolyCom) makes some nice stuff. Poly Studio E70, although I have not used it, looks sweet. It's a good bit over budget, but seems pretty dang nice. It may be overkill for a 12x20 room, though. The x50 is cheaper and looks pretty good as well. The audio pickup in the video is great, imo. The framing is slower with the single camera, but works. A more budget oriented option would be the Logitech MeetUp.
OK, good information. I saw that Poly has an X30 which is a little cheaper. I'm guessing the difference is in the microphone quality and distance. A 4K camera seems like the best way to do it as well. Thanks,
I think 4k is a little gimmicky. I doubt that you will be actually displaying 4k video through Zoom. I'd look more into that if I were you. Bandwidth throttling, max output resolution in Zoom, etc.
