You have succinctly summarized one of the reasons I stay on the north side of Hull Road.

The hitting was sort of like watching a game at KSP. Great play by Munro (always liked her) at the plate on the tag out, with only a teeny tiny bit of obstruction! :)

Well....they've been televising track and field and swimming so I guess that's actually what provided the context for me.:emoji_swimmer::emoji_medal::emoji_clapper::emoji_running_shirt_with_sash:

Aubree Munro has always been one of my favorite players and her play at the plate to save the run was awesome. OTOH, I think the call could have gone either way. In the old days, the defender could block the plate while in the act of catching the ball. That changed a few years ago and now the rule indicates that if defender blocks the plate before gaining possession, the runner is safe. Maybe Olympic rules are different.

If USA wins gold it’s because of Abbott and Osterman. Im curious who’s going to step up and be the next big pitcher because i doubt they will be pitching by the time 2028 comes around.

Yep would be funny seeing a couple of gray hairs mowing down some 20 somethings. But 6'3"" lefty softball pitchers are tough to find

The offense has been pretty terrible. Not sure why some of the best hitters in the sport like Lorenz and Alo didn’t make the team.

They honestly might have been better off sending the Oklahoma offense.

Another win though, they walked it off and if Japan beats Canada they are in the gold medal game.

Yep another low scoring win, 2-1 walk off in 8 inn over Australia. Abbott finally gave up a run due to walks in the 8th. Team just can't hit. Hopefully they are saving the bats for the gold medal vs Japan, the expected opponent.

Kind of a meaningless game today vs Japan, except maybe for confidence, but USA wins 2-1 on a walkoff HR from Kelsey Stewart.

5-0 in pool play, home team vs Japan for the gold on Tues.
