From all of his recent comments, it sounds like he will vote for Smith, and I think Smith will win by a large margin. The truth is that neither Trask nor Jones are first round draft picks or particularly spectacular quarterbacks in the eyes of almost anyone but their respective fanbases. They are both immobile pocket passers which have become dinosaurs in the NFL. Even Tua didn’t win the Heisman. Smith is clearly an elite WR and has broken all of the school and SEC records. He also has the kind of backstory that CFB fans want to reward because he did what we all wish all of our stars would do—came back for his senior season when he could’ve turned pro (despite being Bama’s leading WR, ahead in every statistical category of Jeudy and Ruggs who were both 1st round picks).

Trask will go in the first round. 247 has him at number 11 (ironically) to the 49rs. Being Nostradamus, I predict Pittsburg moves up to get Trask in round 1 - he’s a perfect replacement for Rothlesberger. Same size and neither can run.

1 and 84 were more relevant to the discussion given that they were the actual problems, being that nobody could cover them. When asked questions about Jones, he also immediately deflects to talking about the OL, WRs, etc. When asked outright if Smith was the best player in CFB a few weeks ago, he said something to the effect of “I haven’t seen every player so I can’t compare him to people I haven’t even seen, but he’s a good asset to our team.”

Saban doesn’t campaign for his players ever.

I agree. While I wouldn’t give him the Heisman because of his missed games, he is truly a talented kid and seems fairly likable.
I think he could very well carve up that Bama D, by the way. The threat of a running game makes them extremely dangerous.

Bama has a great Oline, great RB, great receivers and a good defense. Florida has Trask and some really good receivers but an average Oline and a below average defense but Trask still did better throwing TD;s

Bama defense points allowed last 5 games before us...
    Miss State - 0
    Kentucky - 3
    Auburn- 13
    LSU-17
    Arky- 3
So 36 total, or 7.2 per game.
Our Trask led offense scored 46. With an average OL and a below average running game.

Meanwhile Jones has Najee Harris and a bunch of 5 star OLs to take pressure off of him.
This tells you all you need to know about who should win the Heisman.

Right after game Chizik and Doering both said Smith, Jones, Harris - 1.2.3.

I did not like it. I did not like it very much.

Add to that....trask came into the Missouri game 3 years ago after Franks was pulled and led the team to a couple of long scoring drives with the same offense that was floundering all game.

The lack of appreciation for how good he is and how dismissive the media has been is truly pathetic. I really don't care for the college football fraternity anymore. I just don't. I'll watch the gators from here on out but I'm finished with everything else

100%. Jones was never asked to win the game for his team. He has two other players on offense that are Heisman contenders. Kyle Trask was asked to go play perfect for 10 straight games and had one game where the ball just did not bounce his way. he won’t win it because it’s a hype award these days. Similar to Rex Grossman situation.

Trask deserves the Heisman. Period. Just like the title said.

The pocket Jones gets to throw from reminds me of Sam Bradford when he won the Heisman in 08

Then he faced a real defense and somehow OU went averaging 46 a game to scoring 14 in the BCS NCCG

Well deserved. Not bad for a high school backup. Here’s to hoping the voter’s get it right. If Tim got it with incredible stats on a 3 loss team in Urban Meyer’s 3rd year at UF then Kyle should get it too with incredible stats on a 3 loss team in Dan Mullen’s 3rd year at UF. Go Gators!

If he wins, OMG!!!! Best story to me since Danny. We have to hope Smith and Jones split votes. Be nice for Harris to grab some votes.
