Exactly what I was saying yesterday. From a pic that I saw, his eyes were open but were looking straight ahead and glassy. Anyone with even the least amount of first aid experience would know to check to see if he was breathing and if he had a pulse. CPR would begin immediately till an AED could be administered or EMTs took over. Surely they wouldn’t have let him go any amount of time without getting oxygen to his brain. I wish someone would let us know if he is awake, alert or responsive at all. Don’t have to know all his medical details, just let us know if he is conscious and can communicate.

Wish we had emojis back. Agree completely. One reason I worry it was a bleed of some sorts.

Someone reported yesterday that they were doing CPR on him as they wheeled him out. I wont ever watch the video again but I was wondering if anyone could confirm that report.

If you watch the video, from one angle it appears he is breathing on his own when the medical people are kneeling by him, but later does seem to be staring off into space.

Who could have ever imagined a situation where literally every Gator fan could care less if KJ ever laces up the sneakers again. We just want to see him have a chance to live a normal life. I honestly can't imagine watching college basketball with a similar passion moving forward if things go down as I fear.

As a Cuban-American from Miami and Marlins fan, this brings back a lot of Jose Fernandez flashbacks. That hit so close to home. I know the circumstances were different as Jose's death was self-inflicted. But the feelings of shock, loss, profound sadness, and seeing my son lose one of his sports heroes are all coming back. I haven't watched much baseball since. I can't believe this is happening. God please help KJ pull through!

I've opened up a conversation with Growl about the emojis. They turn them off during peak traffic hours and between the football game and what happened to KJ I'm sure we were experiencing extremely high traffic. They're working on phones.

Not being speculative as we have not been provided any real info, but I recall KJ on the gurney as he was being wheeled out. His head was turned to the side somewhat and he appeared to be out. Did not see any oxygen on him nor an AED. Now keep in mind he just took a big fall. It’s realistic that would make him be out if it.

Now there has been several speculative ideas about cause. Have not seen anything relating to a drop in blood sugar level or electrolyte imbalance. Also, for African Americans there is a possibility of sickle cell trait that could cause problems.

The cause of the fall can be one issue and the result or impact of the fall another.

In any case, we need to pray for this young man.

If it was a heart issue they would have started right then and there. To wait, for any reason, would be gross negligence. So it was not that sort of heart issue.

But at this point the public doesn’t know exactly what aid was administered and when. All we know is he’s been “critical but stable” for 24 hours with no mention of being conscious, moving, talking, etc.

And usually at this point they mention someone is responsive. I hope I'm not reading too much into that but no update has said that, which is very worrying.

Big Time College Sports has become such a monster, the players merely pieces in a game that is for our entertainment, that many of us forget the humans that live inside the jersey. To the coaches and players, they never forget that. We, the fans, often do.
