Here are some positives that we can focus on that have nothing to do with "sources" or "insider" knowledge: 1) There have been no outright denials or any word at all out of the Kelly camp. Also all the tradition gator beat writers and reports have been completely silent. That is a good thing. 2) Stricklin only has a small window of time to get a new hire. The early signing period is Dec 18th i believe and guys like Frost won't even talk till around the 4th. That is not a lot of time at all for a program that doesn't want to start bleeding recruits or commits. 3) Chip is a huge name and a big time coach. He just came off two NFL jobs. If he goes back to college I bet he would want a top program that provides the opportunity for him to have major success. UT, UCLA, A&M etc are simply not on our level. So even though he is the top available coach, we are the top available program. 4) Stricklin knows the current situation with the desperate fanbase. This isn't a tradition hiring period. This has come off the heels of two failed up-and-comer hires. He sees how frantic and desperate the fanbase has become. If it winds up being Strong, Mullen, Norvell, Taggard - Stricklin is going to have a huge PR sell job on his hands and the whole UAA and coach will be under tremendous pressure.
