Current state sucks. Eventually they’re going to have to do something to make these things enforceable and to limit the unfettered free agency.

With the caveat that they don’t actually have to play and their pay isn’t based on their performance. It’s even better than just pay for play.

Can a school stop payment to a coach for not living up to promises?

Alabama doesn't, Georgia does. A star basketball player left his school in Alabama for a payday at a Georgia high school. Mr. Basketball as a 10th grader, already named player of the year in 6A twice, led his team to two state championships, and now getting paid for two years in Georgia before going to college.

Georgia has completely sold out to athletics. Coaches don't have to teach class in high school I believe.

This is the stat line of the kid holding out for 100k. The kid isn't going to the NFL so I get trying to make whatever you can but this ain't the way.

We are going to keep acting like these kids are all victims?

He’s probably thinking, “if I can just get this 100k I’d be a millionaire. I won’t have to work a day in my life.”

Nobody knows who said or offered what. After having to deal with Rashada one would think Gators would reserve judgement. And yes, he has no NFL future so get every dollar now.

When will college athletes be treated like everyone else who is trying to make as much as they can for their work? I'd do the same, and anyone complaining I would tell them it's not their future to worry about.

If he is smart and gets good guidance it could certainly move up a retirement date significantly.

Well according to the NIL he wasnt getting paid anything, so I guess none of that applies.

I know everyone wants to roast this dude, but the story that he moved 3k miles acoss country to play for UNLV with no NIL deal at all, just doesn't add up. The math isn't mathing. Of course more info could make it makes sense.

If he wasn’t paid what was agreed to, I wouldn’t play either but I can understand no paying for 44%. Kinda like be fired and trying to quit after the fact.

How did he get to 6k yds? Is he rushing for 1500 a year?

I know the genie is out of the bottle, never to be put back in, but in this case I hope he never gets a so called NIL dime. Hope he took advantage of his free college ride and got a degree. He ain’t going to the NFL and I doubt (hope) no college team will touch him with money for yet another year.
