I doubt that there is anything wrong with UK that a few million right wingers wouldn’t fix.

When you say 'fix', the UK has had a right wing Government since 2010...

They are the problem, if you knew as much as you thought you did.

Right wingers protesting in USA on 1/6: “Democracy is under attack!!!”

Britain’s elected leaders pass laws against certain protesting “Democracy is under attack!!!”

When you’re a hammer every issue looks like a nail.

    None taken.

    It's been diabolical.

    Austerity.
    Brexit.
    Populism.

It would take a turn around never seen in British Politics for them to still be governing on July 5th.

The only question will be if Labour has an outright majority or not.

Wait, you think that 1/6 was just a protest? Not an attempt to prevent, through violence, the certification of an election and the transfer of power?

My comments were not an exhaustive reflection of 1/6.
The point of the post was EVERYTHING to that poster is an attack on Democracy - no matter how different the events are. Capisce?

1/6 wasn't just a protest. It was a (fortunately failed) violent attempt to block the Constitutional process of certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election. Apparently, you failed to see the difference.

I would think that most foreigners like the British would laugh at what's going on in this country. Though I imagine it would be laughter rather nervous and amazed, since what goes on in this country (or will be going on) affects others too. I wonder if they think it may be something in the water here. (I wonder that myself, and only drink bottled water.)

I don't think so because of the old adage about stones and glass houses. Our experiment with populism appears to be about to take a big pause, thank heavens. Sunak, for all his deficiencies, started to change that narrative back a year ago and Starmer will cement it in a few weeks time.

I think a lot of Brits - myself included - look to the US to be the stable global power. China is an ever growing political issue, the EU is much less stable than it has been for a while and Russia won't go away. The world needs the US to have its *&^% together and so it's less about laughing and more worry. With the best will in the world, the rhetoric I hear from DJT scares me - looking inward will always win votes but the problems of the world will just be kicked down the alley, they won't actually disappear.

Ha! Very cool. What's really hard for me is Tony Robinson, the guy who fronted it, was in (in my humble opinion) the greatest ever British comedy of all time - Blackadder. It's hard to take him seriously in that show. 'Baldrick' was sensational. They did politics too...
