Let me get this straight. A Republican controlled Congress and a Republican President pass a tax cut in the middle of an economic boom, adding $2 Trillion to the federal deficit, but the media and liberals are to blame for driving this country further into a hole?

Furthermore, you don't believe in anything the left stands for?

The left currently stands for ensuring all children have health insurance. You don't believe in every American child having health insurance?
The left stands for preserving historic national monuments and parks (something started by famed liberal Theodore Roosevelt). You don't believe in Yosemite or Yellowstone?
The left stands for setting certain limitations on large multinational banks so that they don't repeat their absurd over-leveraging and speculative betting that caused the 2008 economic crisis. You don't believe in that?

You know who. Funny I watched the big 3 networks and not even a peep from any of them. They have no credibility left.

There was a time - in the good old days conservatives heretofore have pinned over - when if a high level White House official, on his own, had secret talks with a high level Russian official, he would be invesigtaed, and if that American official then lied to the investigating authorities about the talks, he'd be prosecuted. In those good old days, if said official twice admitted his lies and pled guilty, no Attorney General would interfere by dropping the charges against him on the eve of sentencing. Now, one can spin this anyway they want, but this is what happened. It just seems to be of no consequence to this generation, and that's why, in my mind, this country is in such danger.

You're talking more of spies. What happened here has happened in every instance of a new President entering office -- his people reach out in our country and outside to get a sense of where things stand. It has NEVER been prosecuted until now.

And what we have learned is that Flynn did nothing more than had been done before and not prosecuted for previously -- only in this one case there was a former President who WANTED to get Flynn, and MAY have set out his loyal dogs to get him. That is far more frightening to those conservatives like me from the good ol' days.

Reaching out isn’t being prosecuted in this case. It is common, as you point out.

He was prosecuted for lying to the FBI about it.

Pence said publicly that Flynn told him he hadn’t had the conversation. The FBI knew he had, and drew the correct conclusion that the Russians knew he lied to Pence and scheduled an interview. Flynn lied during the interview.

We don’t know two key things.

    1) Why on earth did Flynn lie to Pence and then the FBI. His conversation was legal and required no lie.

    2) Who leaked Flynn’s name to David Iglesias that put the story in the wind creating the conversation Pence described and started the lie.

    Flynn was wrong.

The leaker, in all likelihood a Democrat, was wrong.

    This isn’t complicated.

If this was all above board, why is it that several foreign intelligence services came to the prior administration to warn them of suspicious contact between Russian operatives and the Trump campaign, during the campaign? From British spies were first to spot Trump team's links with Russia

GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.
    ...
The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said.

Another source suggested the Dutch and the French spy agency, the General Directorate for External Security or DGSE, were contributors.

It is understood that GCHQ was at no point carrying out a targeted operation against Trump or his team or proactively seeking information. The alleged conversations were picked up by chance as part of routine surveillance of Russian intelligence assets. Over several months, different agencies targeting the same people began to see a pattern of connections that were flagged to intelligence officials in the US.
Under what conditions do you think US Presidential campaigns should be involved in conversation with Russian agents?

Under what conditions would you have given a pass to a Democratic Presidential campaign involved in the same suspicious communications with Russian agents?

Under what conditions do you find it acceptable for a Presidential campaign to share campaign strategy and polling data with Russian agents?

See, there you go spining, this time by making stuff up so the spin won't wobble and fall over. That's NOT what Flynn was doing, and what he was doing was wrong, which is why he lied about it.

Please clarify. This response is somewhat obtuse. It is ironic along with hypocritical to tell me to stick with JUST this unmasking, yet your response above goes off topic to network credibility. Are you claiming ABC, NBC, and CBS have no coverage of Flynn?

Briefed on what and by whom? Briefed that a senior member of future staff had been meeting privately with a known Russian agent? Wouldn't it make sense that any admin would want to know if that occurred?

Mueller report clearly documented that the Trump campaign shared campaign strategy and polling data with Russian agents.

However, Russian agents decided they'd prefer not to be interviewed by Mueller's team, hence there was not sufficient evidence to prove conspiracy charges.

Mueller was very specific to state that his report did not address collusion. The "no collusion" chant is a completely baseless and false talking point of Trump and his sycophants.

Anybody with common sense knows collusion when they see it, though, and Trump very clearly colluded with an enemy power to help his election.

Aside from collusion, the Mueller report documented ten cases of obstruction of justice, and over one thousand former Federal Prosecutors signed a letter stating they'd have nailed Trump on multiple counts... if the DOJ allowed prosecution of the President.

So yes, he absolutely should have been impeached and removed from office, both following the Mueller report for those crimes and transgressions against our country, and for his extortion of the Ukraine, and for the serial obstruction of justice and obstruction of congress he engaged in following those crimes.

The Senate decided they'd rather turn this country into a Banana Republic than uphold their sworn oath of office, so Trump remains... and continues to abuse his office.

9 cases of obstruction of justice. The Mueller report found that all the obstruction around the meeting with the Russians at Trump Tower was directed at keeping the public from finding out about it, but they cooperated with investigators. The report explicitly says that case was not obstruction of justice.

My bad. Only nine cases of obstruction of justice from the Mueller investigation.

    Thanks.

What's the typical prison term for one case of obstruction of justice?

I consider myself just left of center now. Have to problem in the past voting for a R, and voted for McCain for Senator a few times. He was a good man. Maybe a bit too much of a war hawk, but McCain and Biden were friends and remained so until the day McCain passed.

The opposition is always going to paint opposing candidates in poor light. Unfortunately, negative campaigning works. But afterwards, both sides can and have often put aside the dirty campaigning to work for the best of the country. Again, see Biden (D) and McCain (R) as an example.

Trump is different. It seems he doesn't want to be President of the entire country. Only those that grovel at his feet. He'll even go after members of his own party that step out of line.

I'm surprised Trump didn't say anything negative about Nunes for not finding dirt on Obama and Biden when the Senate investigated the unmasking a few years ago. Maybe Trump forgot there was an investigation or maybe Nunes is so much of a Trump bootlicker that Trump will let him off the hook?

This whole "Obamagate" crap is nothing more than a political stunt to attempt to make Biden look dirty. The Rs can't even name what crime has been committed, and again, when the Senate was in R control, they investigated and found nothing. So why bring it up again now?

We have the most crooked president in the history of this country. He lacks character, empathy, and any semblance of an intelligence. He doesn't even know our history. He doesn't give a rats arse about anyone but himself and it floors me that people who support him because he has an R next to his name, don't see that. I'm praying that what I suspect is happening in most of the voter's minds, will come to pass and he will be given his marching papers come November.
