Georgia hires ex-Ole Miss coach Matt Luke as OL assistant
Could be a nice addition for them. I wish we'd bring in Strong as a Co-DC.
That was quick . . .
SEC coaching is so incestuous
Kirby is doubling down on Saban's system, now he's starting his own School for Failed Head Coaches to compete with Bama's
Fired coaches quickly resurface as assistants in the SEC:
Arkansas’ Chad Morris, new OC at Auburn
Ole Miss’ Matt Luke, new OL coach at Georgia
Colorado State’s Mike Bobo, new OC at South Carolina
If nothing else you get inside info on recruits. As well as mining the former HC for any bit of info about things they did at the former school you might want to steal.
So Gus was impressed with Arkansas offense? Really?
No...but I bet he was impressed w/ Clemson's....
We were pretty excited to get SOS back on campus and having a looksee at our offense when he was no longer at S. Car.
Kirby’s immediate hire of an OL coach shows someone that understands the importance of recruiting. Remember when we didn’t hire a DL coach until after NSD? Rumph stayed at Texas until after NSD. There has to be urgency and paying top dollar when hiring assistants during recruiting season
Oh dear god the rationalizing and blame for everything but Kirby in Atlanta radio is killing me. It’s the grassy noll, it’s heisenberg it’s little green men but the one thing they’re sure about is none of it is Kirby. I’m searching frantically for a pencil to shove in my ear. My god I need a pod to drop
I'm not sure I know a single UGA fan at this point that doesn't lay the troubles of this season on Kirby. He's in charge. He's the one (fair or not) perceived to be the reason behind our reliance on man ball and the one that is causing us to be slow to adapt to new offensive philosophies that put us behind the 8 ball after our early departures and the injuries we had this year.
There are some signs of life so far since the LSU game, but a lot of our fan base is in wait and see mode to see how the offseason goes.
Hairy I was stuck listening to buck and Kincaid yesterday bec there were no pods and it was awful John was the only one keeping it real and I detest John normally so it’s hard for me to agree with him. You’d have been embarrassed by the call ins along with Los and the other producers takes on stuff. It caught me off guard bec on the relativity lucid outlook on stuff from the ga fans I know seemed more in line with the way us from the outside see things
Allstate Sugar Bowl
Georgia vs. Baylor
Jan 1, 8:45 p.m., ESPN
The Georgia Bulldogs and Baylor Bears started December with College Football Playoff aspirations.
After falling in their respective conference title games, the two sides will meet in the Sugar Bowl.
A year ago, Kirby Smart's team suffered a defeat at the Superdome to the Texas Longhorns, while Baylor is making its second-ever Sugar Bowl appearance and first since 1957.
The Big 12 has come out on top in its previous two meetings against the SEC in the Sugar Bowl.
Odds (via Vegas Insider): Georgia (-7.5); Over/Under: 42.5
Basing your perception of the thinking of a fan base on the opinions handed out by the guys who are such deep knuckle draggers that they call in to sports talk radio is like basing your understanding of whether or not the US landed on the moon around the preachings of a guy wearing a tin foil hat.
That’s fair. It was driving me crazy no matter how I slice it. What bothered me most was how seemingly inept they came across when judging ga’s year. All things considered I thought it was a relatively successful year that a fan base should be at least semi hopeful about. You are what u eat. When a team is winning at clemsons , o-h-I-O or bamar levels then it’s an understandable response to 11-2 but for where things were to where they are 11-2 and a chance at a champ is nothing to sneeze at , specially when there’s not a lengthy history of one and nearly nil in the other.
