Gators Ready to Defend Home Title for Fourth Year in a Row
    Lucy Berres UF
Florida is set to host the 47th edition of the Florida Gator Invitational this weekend at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
The Gators will look to win their home tournament for the fourth straight season. Last year, Florida won the event by 12 strokes finishing with a tournament record 840 (E), breaking the record they set the season before of 847. They are the first team to finish even par in the women's tournament in its 47-year history.

Last season the Gators had three players in the lineup finish inside the top five and the other two inside the top 20. Junior Sierra Brooks and sophomore Elin Esborn finished second and third while junior Marta Perez finished T5.

The Florida Gators women's golf team won the Florida Gators Invitational for the fourth year in a row.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators women's golf team won the Florida Gators Invitational for the fourth year in a row, breaking their own record for the lowest team score in tournament history with a two-under 838.
Sophomore Addison Baggarly led the team and finished in a three-way tie for second place with a three-under score of 207. After hitting three bogeys in a row on the front nine of the final round, she birdied her final three holes of the day to finish the round one under par. There was only a one-stroke difference between the runner-ups and the individual champion Michaela Williams of Tennessee. Williams shot the second-lowest single round of the tournament in her final round, ending with a 65.
Junior Marta Perez had her best round of the tournament, carding a two-under 68 on the final day to finish tied for sixth. Seven birdies helped her finish on par for the weekend and stay inside the top 10.

One of our few spring programs without drama this year. They are always a steady ship.

Good rally. Steady scores all 3 rounds. Miami had a very low 1st round but couldn’t maintain it.
