This radio guy. He has been better today than usual, but ending the game by saying the Gators run-ruled Mercer by a score of 9-2. C'mon man!
He simply does not understand a stick and ball game. Baseball. Softball. He has no elementary knowledge of what is happening in front of his eyes.
No. Over and over I have advised why softball gets the shaft. We are the only school in the SEC that can only broadcast 2 events at the same time due to our grossly out of date production facility. Gymnastics and baseball is getting broadcast tonight. No softball because of that. Every other SEC school can do 4-5 events at the same time. Any other SEC school and our game would be broadcast tonight. This is a problem known about for at least 6 years and our AD simply refuses to spend the money to upgrade our production facility to bring us on par with the rest of the league. He has been advised over and over it is a problem that has a fairly easy solution and a "relatively" cheap solution compared to what is spent elsewhere. He doesn't care.
I think that is what my post said. ufjaz said: ↑ As I suspected. They probably over-committed their work staff or ran short of equipment..
The ESPN guy I talked to said it was on the schedule and ready to go, but nothing coming in from Gainesville. This guy was in Manitoba, Canada.
Yes. My supposition was that UF scheduled the broadcast with ESPN and ESPN put it on their app for streaming. But as the game time approached UF realized that they were not able to provide the feed to ESPN due to lack of equipment or staff due to other sporting commitments. So when we tried to stream the game from SEC+, we got zilch. This is consistent with what Rick and Hoyt has stated. I'm not sure why they are disagreeing with my post.
