Rain delay took away our momentum and gave them a chance to re-group. Northwestern has dominated the 4th quarter. Too bad. Gators had a great season and had the #1 team in the nation in a battle for thei lives until Mother Nature paused the action. Oh well.
I know a lot about women's lacrosse. But in every case where I thought the refs were wrong, they were right. (Except when they missed stuff, like Maggie getting checked in the head on the ground behind goal.)
Proud of our team. NW has been destroying people. Draw differential was the difference. The better team won. Great season, strong team.
Seemed like NW won almost all the drops. That was a huge advantage in number of possessions for them. Our staff needs to study that film and duplicate whatever it was NW was doing.
17-11 draw controls in favor of Northwestern. That's an area of the game Florida almost always wins and, to me, was thr difference in the game.
If you mean ground balls, you're right. You get credit for a draw control even if the ball goes on the ground and you come up with it. NW got the draw onto the ground and won the gb battle. I've spent years trying to figure out better ways to teach winning ground balls.
This was a senior laden team. Here are the Grad Students and Seniors we are losing: Paisley Eagan, Bella Palagonia, Kelly Schleuderberg, Emily Lortz, Sarah Falk, Ashley Gonzalez, Maggi Hall, Catherine Flaherty, Hannah Heller,Maria Pansini, Danielle Pavinelli, Emily Heller, Liz Harrison, Madison Waters, Emma Panciocco. 7 of our Top 8 scorers are gone. Does anyone have insight as to who on the team might be ready to step up and take their place? We had an unusually large roster this season.
