I'll enjoy beating them just as much on Friday as I will on Saturday

That pretty much says it all about the prestige of this game currently. If we keep up this trajectory, we will be playing this game in the noon slot before the Egg Bowl.

That’s BS. UF should not be playing regular season games on a Friday. Doubt Foley would have let this happen

Friday night the day after Thanksgiving is just wrong. Seminoles can't even read a calendar.

  6. Prime time nationally televised night game the Friday after Thanksgiving with leftover Turkey is a huge upgrade for this game.
Crush them and it will be the apex of the season for you hall of famer's.

1979 game was on a Friday, something the UF media guide lists wrong.

Agreed. Better exposure. Whip that tail while the whole nation watches.

This isn't a random October Friday.....

Tough schedule in 22. Start with Utah. Of the last 5 games only one at home in the Swamp.

That sucks for the traveling team and fans, which is us this year. I don't see any mention of this becoming a regular thing, so there must be big TV money involved.

It has got to be more TV money for both schools.
I don't mind a Friday night only game in town.
    Islay Scotch please.

Yes it was. I was there. It was moved for TV and televised on ABC and we wore orange uniforms for the first time. Larry Ochab threw it all over the place (54 times I think) and we scared the FSU team that went to the Orange Bowl. We lost 27-16. It annoys me when even the UF media can’t get our history right. FSU has right on their site

It actually was. I wasn't old enough to remember so I looked it up...UF originally sold out but offered refunds when the game was moved. Attendance was only around 55k because of the game being moved.

Several dates show it played on the 23rd (a Friday) with others showing it as the 24th. The 24th was the original schedule. Game was moved to the 23rd.

Note that Jim Lampley states right at the start of this video that the Nebraska Oklahoma game is "tomorrow" (saturday).
