Although he could have worded it differently, the line about bama's offense made me chuckle also...
It is curious Riley only said he would not be the coach at LSU when I'm sure there must be interest from other big schools.
Still wouldn't make sense to leave particularly with Texas being down.
Scott Stranglehold could offer half the buyout plus a guaranteed game in the future. If he wanted/needed to sweeten the deal, then offer a percentage of concession sales too.
And maybe a couple bushels of oranges?
This. and so many gems.

Just some info:
How much is Cajuns football coach Billy Napier really making? See the details of his contract
BN: 2 Million annually with 400,000 base and 1.6 Million in benefits.
2.5 Million for 10 assistant coaches.
225,000 pool for as many as 11 QC coaches
Buyout 3 Million
DM: 7.6 Million annually (no breakdown that I can find)
6.05 Million current salary for 10 assistant coaches.
No information I can see on QC coach allowance.
Buyout 12 Million

Unlike millions of others I have realistic expectations for football at the University of Kentucky.
He is staying because this is the program HE built from scratch and because the school gave him a CHANCE to turn it around. He will also be the all time winningest coach ever at UK. Pretty damn good gig for millions at a place where he is respected and very well liked.
I'm sure the Ben Hill Griffin family could help UF get their hands on some at a reasonable price, if the Ag department couldn't spare enough.
Y'all, please read at least a page or two prior before posting the same tweets over and over.
The latest is from Pete Thamel and the word is that the announcement could come today but no guarantee yet. No other news yet.
Likely 4 year deal at $5M a year..what are you thinking? You don’t sign a non proven coach to a longer deal and $5M is heavy coin
Wonder if he has his own buyout (to school for leaving). Not clear from that.
The most relevant numbers are probably the DM numbers. Hard to pay BN much less than the coach we just fired. I don’t know that the $6 million was in DM’s contract. I’ve never quite gotten how that works. I mean, if you draw away a top current OC (for example) you have to pay more. But you don’t pay more for the fun of it. Perhaps it is a sort of discretionary budget not requiring further approval?
Unlike UF, LSU, uga, the pressure to succeed at UK is not like it is at bigger schools who aren't very patient. MS can get away with 7,8 win seasons in football. Basketball is still king there. But to his credit, he has done very well there and is making a name for himself. I don't see him wanting to go to a pressure cooker.
I love that Tiger message board post from the previous page. "His words were definitive, but his delivery was not." What a totally reasonable, grounded thing for a human being to think and write.
