Kind of the same except for the info about the agreement.
Maybe per Napier’s request.
Pretty sure this is false. On tos there’s an article in which he addresses this situation. He doesn’t come right out and say he’s our new coach. But y’all know coach speak. He’s our next coach barring a major meltdown.
this is similar to what I’ve been hearing - at least as far as Napier to VT goes.
I'm gonna need an official announcement soon. I have things to do today and work every day next week.
If that announcement and PC doesn't come soon, I'm not sure how much is getting done.
I don’t begrudge Napier wanting to coach the conference championship game, and it’s totally fine if he wants to stay at Louisiana long enough to do that.
But, assuming he is the guy and he takes the job, I do think it’s important to get the hire announced, get him in a press conference wearing a Gator shirt and have him start calling recruits as soon as possible. A week is a big deal this time of year.
why would we care if he brings his staff. Most of our staff has contracts ending anyways
I have always figure this would go the way, as it has in the past, with announcement today or tomorrow, that he could get the announcement out of the way and focus on his game next week. I imagine that is what UF wants.
If it stays quiet because he wants to focus and not have any distractions this week that will actually be unusual. Maybe impressive.
Something about the guy wanting to be loyal to his team during the championship... I like that.
Hmmmm - a pal of SOS?
Because we should have the best coaches on the country, and we can afford to hire the best coaches in the country.
If there is any truth to the back and forth negotiations and BN wanting certain things, then he sounds like the guy UF needs right now.
So, tomorrow. I think most of us were already expecting that but simply hoping for Sunday.
Yep. He sounds like a "Look if we're going to do this, then we're going to do this right and I need full commitment" kind of coach.
Hiring will be fascinating - maybe bring one or two from ULL, or more???
Already have guys to hire that are a step up that want to work for him, want to be at UF???
Who does he keep from Mullen's staff - just one as a bridge? One on each side of the ball???
Agree, Funny, and Winner!
I think that is what Napier wants. I truly believe that the announcement won't come until a week from today. Napier wants the focus to be on his team as they prepare for their conference championship game. So next Saturday will be all about the game and its "afterglow". Then the announcement will come the following day...
