Love UD and respect his opinion. He is not going to get very far with this one imo. The nba is woke as heck. And I had no idea Wade's daughter identifies as transgender. This is just UD being sensitive to an issue that the vast majority prefer not be discussed it appears. But if it is pushed on them to be discussed. They will side with DeSantis.

Those two statements are not mutually exclusive.

Living proof that this board and politics in general has become simply about teams.

I agree. But don’t you find it a bit embarrassing that the reason our players are mocked os because of our governor? I do.

Florida man was a term used for goofy things people did. It’s turned into something much uglier the last few years, like it or not.

No. In fact I’m struggling to come up with a reason why I would care in the slightest what a random out-of-state NBA fan thinks about Florida politics.

Maybe because these random out of state fans are the same people that will be voting for the next President of the United States?

Not my concern. And, in any event, I’m fairly certain the guy at an NBA game yelling “your Republican state leadership sucks!” at basketball players probably aren’t the target electorate.

If I go to a game involving the 49ers or Warriors and yell “California is a nanny-state crap hole that intentionally tries to make life difficult for conservatives!,” (putting aside why anyone would possibly think yelling about politics to athletes is in any way constructive), I’m equally sure no elected California leaders would care either.

Florida is the laughing stock of the nation. I hear people trashing Florida all the time. I used to defend Florida, but now I have nothing to say. There's just no defense. It's very sad.

Not saying it was, but if they were so disapproving of the politics would they still come?

Perhaps UD should spend more of his time, resources and connections finding an opponent that doesn't lose to Ron DeSantis by 20%.
