Chain 1: UCF beat Auburn which beat Alabama.

Chain 2: Alabama lost to Auburn which lost to Clemson which lost to Syracuse which lost to FSU which lost to Boston College which lost to Iowa which lost to Iowa State which lost to Texas which lost to Maryland which lost to UCF.

Transitivity says UCF is the national champion.

Wrong, transitive law says the following:

Florida beat UAB, which beat LaTech, which beat Southern Alabama, which beat Troy, which beat LSU, which beat Auburn, which beat Alabama.

Florida is the national champion this year.

I agree UCF should be the national champion. And, it has nothing to do with my dislike for Saban:devil:. Really:rolleyes:. I even rooted for Alabama last night.

Because of their undefeated record or their powder puff schedule?

I think you missed the point of the emojis.

But, I will answer anyway. UCF was undefeated and crushed the team that pounded Alabama. And, that way, Alabama is not the NC:D .

If a respected website like Gator Country would award UCF an NC trophy, UCF could claim the NC like we claim the 1984 NC because the New York Times names us NC :).

I felt this way before the game yesterday and would have felt even more strongly about it had UGA won:eek:.

Heupel's offense averaged nearly 40 points per game in the SEC. Pretty sure he has this covered and without needing Scott Frost or his offense.

UCF....great story. They would have been embarrassed by any of the play off teams. It is that simple. Their AD is looking like an ignorant fool and should just shut up now.

Spurrier and warden Bowden say UCF should be #1.....anybody want to argue with those guys? From today's O.S.

After all these years, Florida Gators legend Steve Spurrier and his old rival, FSU icon Bobby Bowden, finally agree upon something.

That UCF should be national champion.

On Jan. 1, as UCF was about to play Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Spurrier was asked about the four teams in the College Football Playoff and who he thought would win the national championship. His response: “If UCF wins today, they should be national champions.”

Spurrier, who also put McKenzie Milton on his Heisman ballot, isn’t backing down from what he said on New Year’s Day.

“UCF is a darn good team, they’re the only undefeated team in the country and they beat the team [Auburn] that beat the teams [Georgia and Alabama] who played in the national championship game. Why shouldn’t they be national champions?”

Meanwhile, Bowden told the Omaha World-Herald: “I’ll be honest with you; they [UCF] deserve the national title in my opinion.”

Even Tim Tebow chimed in on UCF’s behalf when the Knights were being criticized for trumpeting their self-proclaimed national championship.

“I think it's awesome. Celebrate it!" Tebow said during an SEC Network appearance on the Paul Finebaum Show.

    Sigh.

If only Saint Bobby, the Head Ball Coach and Timmy Terrific were on the College Football Playoff Committee.

Can't go against Spurrier! His knowledge of the game is far above ours. And, at one time, Bobby Bowden won more games than any other coach in College football history. So, even if SOW did not understand NCAA rules, we can agree Bowden knows football.

And, if UCF is the "real NC" Bama is not!
So, in no particular order and setting aside my dislike for Saban (which predates Bama), UCF is the real national champion!

WTF does UCF bring to the table to deserve a home and home with any of the top teams around the nation? Can they make up for the revenue missed by that top team not having another home game? Are those fans going to pay that top team 3-4 million dollars for that return game to their 44,000 seat stadium? Reimburse the businesses that lose money from that missing home game?

You don’t hear Appalachian State bitching about a home and home when they traveled to Michigan and beat them there. Schedule some one-off games without demanding a home game in return, and eventually they will earn the legitimacy to be able to demand a home and home in return for a non-conference game.

Unfortunately, a win versus Mount Union or James Madison would not count as a win in Division 1-A football!

That's all they needed was a newspaper to claim it and it must be true. UCF is consensus champs with 3 newspapers saying it!
