I agree with their AD. Although, admittedly, their schedule didn't offer much of a challenge. I was very surprised that they managed to defeat Auburn. This is certainly a year to remember for UCF Engineering and Theatre Students.

    Seriously???

They beat a 3 loss Auburn team.

That's their toughest game all season and they Had a month to prepare.

    Please.

I give them their due for the conference they play in and the schedule they played.

Heupel would be smart not to change the offense too much. Build on its foundation. Don't screw with Milton.

They beat one top 25 team, by a single score, on a neutral field in a game they had light years more to play for. Same reason Saban is 0-3 in sugar bowls. Had they played an sec West schedule they would have been torn up.
Great story, but people get carried away with that stuff.

If they go undefeated next year.
Then we have a problem with the playoff.

I'm hoping UCF's season this year, the success of the B1G in the bowl games and the pitiful attendance numbers will help hasten the expansion of the playoffs to 8 teams. That way all 5 major conference champions get in and teams like UCF have a chance to prove they belong.

They deserved a shot at A Playoff, but not this one. We need 8!

What the pie that *WE* made?

....let them serve their time in the kitchen, rather than just showing up for the feast, and claiming cred. for it.

You want to stake that claim, you need to beat the lights out of every team on your schedule, put up record numbers, utterly dominate your bowl opponent, then hope a pile of other breaks fall your way.

Else they're just the best non-power 5 team in the nation, and surely better than a pile of power 5 teams, but hardly the best of the best.

All the props in the world to the University of Central Florida Knights.
But how many ranked teams did they play? Glad you asked.
USF, Memphis (twice), Navy and Auburn.
That's more ranked teams than BYU played back in '84 when Florida should have won the NC.
So the question remains -- how high will they be ranked? Glad you asked. I'll say -- drum roll please --
NUMBER SIX - SIX - SIX - (Echo SFX)

Uhhh Memphis twice!....4 ranked teams and also first team to beat navy at home im like four or five years. Did we get four ranked teams this year? The difference between there schedule wasn’t as great as one would think...just to the uninformed

Ucf 4 top 25 teams...4-0 Uf 2 teams on the schedule and 0-2.

Quite frankly their schedule was light years tougher than FSU’s national championship year and Ucf was much more convincing beating auburn in the end. Don’t tell me Auburn’s near 4 loss team that year was any better than this years team either

    Inside your head.
I have never understood the need for some Gators to dis UCF. UF should be thankful they didn't play UCF this year. UCF would have whipped the Gators like a rented mule. Auburn beat Alabama this year and UCF handled Auburn in the face of losing their coach. How did UF do after losing Mac? We don't need to trash the success of other teams to make ourselves feel big. We need to do it on the field like the Knights did!

Didn’t even remotely we were better than them. I agree they would have beaten us this year, bjtbtrat hardly the point. Only claimed that they aren’t worthy of national title talk. Their best win was a three loss team who got knocked out of the NC picture in their last game when they got blown out by UGA and had little to nothing to play for today.
People just get carried away with underdog stories, but there’s no doubting Frost is an excellent coach.

Both Navy and Memphis were ranked at some point during the season - which bolsters your argument.
