UAA blasting social media with “stadium renovation” articles...is this ill timing?

I bet they thought it would be exciting news for the fans. Instead, it feels like emphasis on the wrong things.

 

I’ve seen some of those peeps on Social but I don’t see the big deal. People are looking for anything to pile on right now. Gators fighting gators.

 

Much of it will be paid for with loans or bonds, it’s not money sitting around. And nil money isn’t from the school.
Lots to be mad about both with football and SS, but getting mad about a desperately needed upgrade that’s been in the works for about 3 years isn’t one of them.

 

What do you mean by “upgrade”? and “desperately needed” is over the top unless you are talking engineering stuff that has to do with fan safety.

 

It’s not even just fans. Former athletes are speaking out on social media too.

Is the UAA seriously this tone deaf?

There are a lot of crazy things there now, you know there are no on site kitchens? All the food has to be brought in already made. Or that as far as concessions BHG has 1/5 the number of concessions Lambeau field has (which the UF folks toured), even with larger capacity? That’s just the tip of the iceberg (things like wider concourses and better restrooms are on tap too) but in a modern world the bottom line is that you have to make the stadium experience top notch, or people will just watch at home. The fact that UF is having to spend 400 million tells you how far behind we fell.

 

Would be nice to not shuffle along in a packed crowd in 100 degree heat to pee in a trough.

 

Suggestion, leg bag..

 

Taking a piss and a dump, not to mention AC for sky boxes, pumps, variable speed drives, chillers, boilers, heat exchangers,
replacing leaking pipes, not to mention the myriad of electrical upgrades necessary for communications and wifi, high resolution scoreboards, lighting, and on and on and on, track man,....... YES, desperately needed in stadium infrastructure.

Most people on social media are ill informed to put it nicely. Any money for the stadium has been specifically donated for that facility. It cannot be moved around for NIL or anything else for that matter. As has been stated, the project has been years in the making.

 

Your second last sentence is not necessarily true. Do you work for Strickland? Can someone prove to me “we have to” spend that much and “have to “ reduce seating? I call bs
