Two new moderators on THFSG

One of these people is not like the other. (Hint--it's Oklahoma.) Much closer to the middle, IMO.

 

Not sure if serious, but anyone posting on the pay side has decades of experience with our Buckeye State law enforcing brother.

 

Looks like THFSG has now gone full MAGA and saying things like “I respectfully disagree” will get you banned. I’m out of here.

 

If a moderator breaks the rules, report it. Heck send me a PM directly. Send the mod a PM directly.

I can't figure out why a mods opinions bother you as long as they don't use those opinions to discipline and I think historically we have done that very well.

This is just a reverse of the nonsense that River has endured for years. Yet I see his mod reports and he is as fair as any mod here.
Political leanings are not indicative of how a mod will operate.

Historically some liberal posters have been offered opportunities and turned them down.

Some conservative as well.

If we break a rule, report us. Otherwise, what's the issue?

 

My guess is that isn't the whole story. No one banned anyone for that alone.

 

I don't post on the pay side. I could have, for a few years, but I never did, and now it's lapsed. I look forward to a better acquaintance with unclenunzio.

 

The issue is you can’t ignore mod trolling. Sure we could report it, but then board admin thinks the forum is out of control because everybody is reporting issues.

Im not above complaining, but I’d rather do it in the open. While I have reported a couple of egregious poster behaviors I generally like to avoid doing so. But it seems like there are lots of reports based upon what admin is saying. So admin is saying the proper procedure is to report but then they get annoyed by all the reporting.

 

The irony is that several posters who do not frequent this board have dropped by in recent years referring to it as "Too Woke for Swamp Gas."

 

I had BBQ once with Unc and Fee. They are good folks.

 

It's not about opinions; it's about behaviors. Editing posters' content (namely thread titles), spamming the board, trolling, and antagonizing posters whose opinions differ.

True for the most part, but not entirely true imo and obviously others feel the same way, as many have expressed disappointment, ntm left the forum altogether. It's worth mentioning that several of us have dropped pd scripts due to the issues being discussed.

 

I think that you will be pleased with the moderating.

If folks:

• Follow rules.
• Report (real) issues,
• and discuss without resorting to middle school name calling... then most will enjoy this ride.

 

If this addition’s primary goal was to help alleviate the burden place on the seasoned moderator team

It's not the political orientation of the moderators, or the job they've done, which has been generally excellent.

The problem is appointing two of the most flagrant trolls the board has to be moderators.

I have a solution though! A true compromise! Here goes; Posters can ignore up to two mods. In exchange for this, prior to accessing the board all posters will do the following each day:

1) Spend at least 5 minutes viewing thoughtless GIFs and making repetitive generalizations about "libbies."

2) Spend at least 5 minutes reading headlines only from BoSnerdley.com, TownHall, RedState, FreeBeacon, or www.fakeRightwingFakenews.com, and then create a thread in support of an article. If questioned on the veracity of the article, poster must either just run away from the thread or respond that the questioner makes them laugh.

Seems like a reasonable compromise.

 

I felt like my most recent name-calling was HS at least. Maybe even more like bar security.

FTR, I was indeed bar security at Purple Gator in Myrtle Beach for a couple of years.

So no shade to the brothers fighting the (usually not so good) fight.

Quite the opposite. His gifs are offensive to people with a sense of humor.
On another note, It's gonna be strange for O&B to see the posts of so many who blocked him for years . . . like "who are these posters and where did they come from?"

 

I like your posts and I think you know deep down my posts are often in jest.
I’m taking the time to tell you sincerely I’m sorry if I took it too far with you in the past.
It’s on both of us to see what we can make of this place.
There’s a lot of very smart, funny gators here.
