Two Soviet-born donors to a pro- Trump fundraising committee who helped Rudy Giuliani’s efforts to investigate Democrat Joe Biden were arrested late Wednesday on criminal charges of violating campaign finance rules and are expected to appear in court on Thursday, according to people familiar with the matter.

Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, two Florida businessmen, have been under investigation by the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan, and are expected to appear in federal court in Virginia later on Thursday, the people said. Both men were born in former Soviet republics.

Mr. Giuliani, President Trump’s private lawyer, identified the two men in May as his clients. Both men have donated to Republican campaigns including Mr. Trump’s, and in May 2018 gave $325,000 to the primary pro-Trump super PAC, America First Action, through an LLC called Global Energy Producers, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Giuliani might want to think about fleeing to Russia at this stage.

It wasn't going to happen. The moment schizo Lindsey suggested it, the Dems on that committee were like "GREAT IDEA!!!!".

    Totally unrelated:

After raising millions, a pro-Trump super PAC then spent thousands of those dollars at the Trump International Hotel in Washington and in payments to close Trump advisers, according to filings first reported by The New York Times.

The America First Action super PAC spent nearly $33,000 at the luxury hotel, according to its latest Federal Election Commission filings.

America First Action also reportedly spent $60,000 on fundraising consulting services from a firm founded by Vice President Pence adviser Marty Obst.

Another $57,000 reportedly went toward top-dollar gifts for donors at expensive jewelry stores and other businesses.

The filings show that ousted Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski earned $55,000 for his consulting firm for his help with communications.

Trump supporter and former Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke, who joined the PAC as a senior adviser and spokesman last September, earned $31,719 for his work with the group. The business of the campaign's former digital media director Brand Parscale, also a communications adviser to the PAC, received $137,257.

America First Action spent about half of its $4 millions of 2017 contributions in the latter half of the year.

Pro-Trump PAC paid thousands to Trump's D.C. hotel, former aides

Agree. Apparently Lindsey thought that having Rudy testify could further the Trump Administration's narrative of corruption by the Bidens. It never occurred to him that it could open the door to details on Ukrainian corruption on the part of Trump supporters represented by Rudy.

Speaking of Brad Pascale, before working for the Trump campaign he was employed by Cambridge Analytica, the British company that played a key role in the Russia's pro-Trump use of social media, especially Facebook, during the 2016 campaign.

What's interesting here is the activities described in the indictment, seem to predate the Ukraine stuff. If you read the indictment, it's all about crimes they had running in 2018 involving the mid-term elections. As far as the reporting goes, Guiliani was working his Ukraine scam starting around May 2019 (?)... so this fool was talking to these clowns who had a Grand Jury investigation going.

I'm sure these men were under surveillance. At the very least they must have turned over their devices. Oops. What are the odds they picked up some Giuliani contacts in there? Get ready for Trump to claim deep state is spying him again. The timing of these arrests are just lovely.

Former Dallas Rep. Pete Sessions appears to play a key role in an indictment handed up Thursday over alleged campaign finance violations by two Soviet-born businessmen who helped President Donald Trump’s personal attorney investigate a top political rival.

The indictment doesn’t mention Sessions by name nor does it accuse him of wrongdoing.

But it makes multiple references to donations and activities by a “Congressman-1” that comport exactly with what’s known about Sessions’ interactions with the two men, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, through Federal Election Commission records and the Republican’s own words.

The indictment also appears to shed additional light on that relationship by alleging that one of the businessmen sought “Congressman-1’s assistance in causing the U.S. government to remove or recall the then-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine.”

While Sessions has previously acknowledged that he met one of the businessmen and that he wrote in May 2018 to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to ask for that ambassador’s removal, he has not revealed who motivated him to take that action.

Indictment of Soviet-born businessmen raises questions about Pete Sessions’ role in Ukraine saga

If true, classic violations where the party tries to hide the source of the contribution by running it though an entity.

Breaking: White House says Giuliani was just a coffee boy who occasionally cleaned the carpets and Trump just thought Giuliani was part of the Halloween decorations.
