The proverbial sacrifice offered up by the NCAA for the sins of Bama and UGa.
Are you sure that's not just your internet connection
I mean wasn't Frost right? He obviously got bad advice to go to louisville as he lasted all of a spring there before he quit and went to rice. Maybe your brother just isnt good?
Frost transferred back to the school he grew up idolizing and had a pretty good career there, so not sure how that's "bad advice"
and I have no idea why I'm defended Scott Frost other than I dont like the mccafferys
I think this post is getting overlooked and im glad you pointed this out because i NEVER looked at it that way until I read and digested this post. If you take a step back, it makes total sense why the recruiting took a dive the last two classes but this class has had more energy and positive feedback than any previous Mullen class. Once you read the stipulations that was placed on Mullen and the/some coaches, it all makes TOTAL sense
So this is a real thing? I thought this was a joke on Big 3 Roll Up.
Absurd. I hate what saban has turned college football into. Greatest coach in the world needs an army of staffers to have a coaching and talent advantage on everyone
Great, so whatever one thinks of the suggestion that a head coach’s first four classes should be excused for three different reasons (one of which is his own show cause order), it seems like we all agree that he should be judged by this (2022) class with no excuses.
You can look at it that way if you choose to
What a bunch of hypocryte.
Nothing is stopping any other program from doing the same, nothing. The Bama staff has a saying they tell recruits, “imitated, but not duplicated”. The Alabama President said in a 60mins interview a few years ago that what they’re spending on Saban (and staff) was the best $$$ investment they’ve ever made. Hard to argue with that, their return has been many fold.
The best I can figure is UF has about half or maybe even less the staff. I only see 2 analyst, surely they have more than that? I wouldn’t even call that the ‘B’ team, probably more like the ‘C’ team. The fact that UF was within only 6pts in the SECCG is remarkable, all things considered.
Here is the UF staff directory:

None of that changes my feelings. Its absurd what it has become.
I wouldn't use the word "excuse" but it does explain some things. Mullen had one of the highest rated transition classes for us in school history, then it went to two less than standard class rankings and had fans up in arms. We as fans didn't find out about the show-cause until after it had been served, so it just looks like poor effort from the outside looking in.
Kind of hard to be a front-runner school during a pandemic when you are already limited for nearly 2 years going into it with the exposure you can have to prospects. Remember, it's all about "relationships" and to build those, you've got to play "the game".
When Georgia got a show-cause it was for their unknown support staff, ours hit the head coach. Like it or not, there's going to be a different effect felt from that.
Like I stated previously, I don't expect us to be right back at the top 3, but I would expect to see an improvement provided this recruiting cycle proceeds as normal. Let's hope to see improvement first and then let's see them continue to build on it.
right. Imagine being a top recruit or a recruit in general and you never get an in home or at school visit from the HC and the school recruiting you can’t come out and say why because that could and would be leaked and used as negative recruiting against you the school? On the contrary, the recruit probably thought they werent a high priority when that wasn’t the case
If everything is above board yes, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it.
I didn’t say that the...let’s call it “context”...about Mullen’s first four classes were “excuses”. I said I think (hope?) we all agree that, as he is heading into his 4th season on the field and looking towards his 5th class, there shouldn’t be excuses going forward. Just to be clear, I think he’s been fine so far. We will see whether we are trending upwards or downwards or staying the same.
