Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M got hit for recruiting infractions (this should help the Gators) that took place between Jan 2018 and Feb 2019. Will not be able to recruit off campus this fall among other penalties.

I have a best friend who worked with Fields mom....the actual story is Justin and mom knew UF was the best opportunity but dad was a lifetime Dawg...you know how that plays out!....and off to OSU when the Dawgs didnt use him as Kirby promised.

looks like the staff does want a back in the class..he’d fit in our offense really well imo. Would be tough to pull him from California though

He will not start his own QB in a 3rd year either. For a guy known for developing QBs, it shows you he can work with QBs he inherited from other programs. To not start your own QB recruit until year 4 in a program is unusual. You usually want to put in your own system, which starts at the QB position.

Or guys like Cadillac Williams, Demarco Murray, Kevin Smith, and Mike Hart. Seems like they were just playing a few years ago. I still can’t believe that Marcus Freeman is the DC at Cincy. I remember watching him play at Wayne in high school.

California players are such homesick mama's boys, though. I don't even really like it when we start looking at those guys. It always seems like more effort with less likelihood of success on the recruiting trail.

Cause we can't close with them that's why we don't like Cali boys. UGA got two of the top 10 players from Cali last year, Clemson one, and Bama one.

For direct playing time UF was definitely the landing spot for Fields. But it would have been hard for arguably the #1 QB in the nation to commit to MacElwain and his offensive system. Now in the Mullen system Fields could have been a modern day Tebow and is why Ohio State (obviously running similar concepts) is a great fit for Fields and his success. Kirby's system limited Fields skillset.

That’s the way I understood it too.

There was an incredible amount of pressure involved in this one

Besides Jimbo Fisher his RB at Texas A&M Jay Graham now at Tennessee was penalized for the next six months to do off campus recruiting.

Mitchell also claimed that he always knew that he was going to go to UF when he committed to LSU, that he committed to LSU because of his family (specially his mother) His mother taught that LSU was the best fit for him, but that UF was always on his mind the whole time. That he got his mother approval before he de-committed from LSU because UF has always bean his dream school.
