Believe Kyle Morris was QB as Emmitt ran for over 300 against new Mexico State. I was in elementary school. Next game was Shane matthews in 92 against Kentucky. Saw wuerffel beat Tennessee with Shuler as a high school kid and rarely missed a game after that.

This was my first Gator game as well. I think our QB was Peace?

My first college game was Wofford vs Clemson in 1981.
Homer Jordan was Clemson's QB and it was Clemson's opener. (Clemson was recruiting me for track- that's why I was there.)
Clemson was coming off a 6-5 season but would go on to win the NC that year.

So for 2 of 3 years I saw the eventual national champs in their opener- i just wish it wasn't Miami.
