Makes me want to puke. That why they are a recent consistent playoff team, they poach the crap out Florida HS talent. Just like BAMA.

 

All are to teams that make the playoffs and one to scum. So either win championships or pay way too much seems the obvious answer.

 

i can’t say this is wrong but to act like the number of fans who DOOOOO @ recruits on social media with negative comments which pales in comparison to the fans who @ recruits with POSITIVE comments is a determining factor is ridiculous. If social media had influence on recruits, UF would have 30 5*s on its roster. Gator fans show enormous amount of positivity towards recruits on social media. People just cherry pick

The biggest thing to all the negative social media to me, is how many of them are actual fans of whatever team? I mean its not to hard to say your Gator fan and badmouth recruits, or the team, or the coaches, without really being a fan.

 

I spend as little time as possible on social media. I know it's unregulated and even here, wehere we have a great group of Gators, we still have some that are way out-of-line . . . so I can only imagine the toxicity spewed on an unregulated platform.

I'll take your word for it though.

 

Gator fans being worse than other fan bases is such a b.s. narrative but it has taken hold. Watch what happens when some of these top programs start dipping again.

 

Gator country does a pretty good job of keeping that from happening but your various social media sites are a mad house of exactly that. Along with the straight up idiot that run their mouth a lot

 

from what ive seen bro, the negative DOESSSSSSSS come when a commit we were after or felt we led for commits somewhere else. That brings out the negative nancies

 

I'll never understand people from any fanbase taking to twitter to trash a 17-year-old kid based on where they choose to go to school. Especially when the trash talking comes down to some variation of "they took the money" as if any high school kid is gonna turn down a ton of cash to play football. Trash the school they choose, sure, but leave the kid out of it.

Social media makes it impersonal and easy to attack the player. If you had a 17 year old kid standing in front of you there is no way any adult says what they say on social media because they would literally be attacking a kid.

This forum does a good job of moderating even if players take heat for their performances. The problem is these kids live on social media and want to be celebrities but then don't want criticism. Then these "adults" attack these personas and players. It's cyclical. I've dropped all Facebook Gator groups because the comments from fans and trolls alike are toxic and embarrassing and nothing will stop it. We have gone from telling board members it doesn't matter what is said here on this forum a few years ago to seeing fans directly interact with players and media stories generating narratives from scouring boards and media platforms.

 

I wouldn't doubt for a second that certain schools have paid posters for and against other schools they recruit against. But there are also plenry of amateur jerks all around.
