At this point we can’t just blame the implosion of the LB board on NIL. Something just isn’t connecting with Bateman and these kids.

If there’s any coach who actually deserves the criticism, it’s him.

 

Yeah Alderman tried to say we were in that one. Don’t waste your time.

Did he have this issue at UNC?

 

Don’t really care what he did at UNC. He’s like 0-5 right now. Unless we can pull Aguirre out our ass (highly unlikely), the LB board is barren.

Like I said, something isn’t connecting.

Remember when we claimed Sunseri couldn't recruit but then he went to Alabama and then beat us for recruits? I'm not saying this is the same situation but it's interesting that Bama never struggles to recruit any positions. People claim Saban requires recruiters as coaches but I'd guess that their system of "recruiting " has always been in place and is somewhat irrespective of how great a "recruiter" is as a position coach.

With that said, I vaguely recall there being some concern when Bateman was hired. Felt like people had concern with his personality and production but I'm not certain.

 

Because they have a record of winning championships.
