LOL lets see how that works out. Speaking of Norvell - Anybody catch his opening remarks at ACC media days? Her was animated, he worked himself into an Assembly of God, fire and brimstone preacher lather, about his Seminoles. Literally screaming into the Microphone. Now this talk about returning his entire salary? Has he gone mental? I watched big Bill Belichick, after watching him be so deadpan with the Pats over the years, it was kind of refreshing to see him almost human. He answered questions, seemed amenable, friendly even! Shared a little knowledge about football and the fullback positions evolution over the years, called NIL and the transfer portal free agency (which is what it is) and held a pretty good press conference I thought. (No girlfriend questions or talk). I know some folks have reservations about him in the college ranks, but the man knows football, that is undeniable. Anyway, back to Norvell, I think BAMA whips them at home by double digits myself, perhaps even embarrassing double digits. I don't root for the tide much but I will be for this game. I would enjoy the new and improved Ron Zook stadium being empty by the 4th quarter! LOL
Yeah - Shane Matthews has said for years the SEC wants North Carolina and Virginia if they expand further.
To open the season...man wouldnt that be glorious. Usually it takes a few games before the wheels come off but damn...game 1 that would just make my year.
Die, as you know, College Football contests are won in many ways, not just QB play. Different position groups other than QB often win games. I give Bama the edge at EVERY position group, including QB AND COACHING. FSU is foolishly running off at the mouth as well. I see a rout coming myself.
Wanne, I don't think winning / competitiveness is the SEC motivation, the motivation is MONEY, a Mid Atlantic media market, good alumni base, basketball and as far as academics (what little that has to do with it) both universities are respected in that area. While teams like FSU, Ga Tech, Clemson and some SW teams may appear more "practical" from a geographic standpoint, geography is not the driver, and teams like UF / UGA / Texas / USCe - don't want the FSU / GA Tech / Baylor / Clemson teams honing in on their SEC territory. It's about money, TV and new markets. I do think SEC and Big 10 expansion is inevitable. At least that's my perception of it.
What do you mean? If you're speaking in football terms only, then I'll agree with you. NC won 6 basketball titles and multiple titles in other sports. VA won both basketball and baseball titles recently and multiple titles in other sports as well.
