Slow down a little and let the freaking team take the field before shitting all over their chances to CONTINUE to improve. Jeezus
If there is no contract with the NIL entity during this pre-payment period, where is the sharp stick to get these guys to pay that back after decommiting? I think I would find the highest monthly payment, commit, collect my paychecks and then decommit closer to signing day and start the bidding process all over again. Free money, right?
I’m not sure what you are upset with. If, it is to cough up a $30m payroll, I think you are in the small minority. If BN has done anything, it’s that he can evaluate talent and recruit. Building a roster organically, without overspending is the right approach IMO. At least until the current state of the game stabilizes. Yes, we can’t be cheap… but we can’t be stupid either.
rivalries being shoved aside for money is what’s ticking me off the most and i honestly hate the 12 team playoff being 12 teams
12 teams doesnt bother me. The 8 seed won out and if i chose to only watch the final four i can. 16 is what i prefer as bye weeks are crap.
As I previously stated, last year we were on several top 100 recruit’s lists. According to 247, this year, we are not. I do not believe bringing this up as an issue is being “dense”. There are legitimate concerns with this class. You may ignore them if you want. As I previously stated, I appreciate that Billy has increased the talent level over the last few years but you’re not going to convince me this is not an issue. It seems like some here can’t abide any comments not completely complimentary towards the coaching staff or the program in general.
Not sure what the payroll needs to be right now, but if we want to be competitive with the top programs, we’re going to need to be damn close. What exactly do you mean by building a roster organically? Finding kids that just want to be gators or are ‘underrated’ is a pipe dream. With today’s recruiting analysis, the ratings are usually pretty accurate. I think the bigger problem right now is the perception of Napier’s future.
BTW, we were on all three of our top recruits’ lists very early and were always in their top 3. VBIII, Wilson and Hanks all had us in their favorites early on. If you’re going to take personal shots, at least make sense.
That's a good story. Except that we flipped high quality, highly ranked players from Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn, Miami, FSU, PSU, Texas, and Georgia off the top of my head under Napier. But go on with your story telling if it makes you feel good.
