The media frequently doesn't report on obvious laughable lies. That you find them accurate or relevant relects on you. Not the media.

Reporters have to actually report on things so, they got to work. Which takes time. The NYTimes in that tweet is dated July 24th.

You won’t read that, so here’s a small stretch of a very thorough piece of reporting:

John Durham, a special counsel appointed in Mr. Trump’s first term who hunted for a basis to fault the actions of law enforcement and intelligence officials early in that investigation, already scrutinized the drafting of the 2017 intelligence assessmentand did not criticize anything about it in his final report.

And in a five-volume 2020 report, the Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee — led by then-Senator Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican who is now Mr. Trump’s secretary of state and national security adviser — reached its own conclusion that Russia’s motivations had included aspiring to improve Mr. Trump’s chances of winning.

Indeed, citing one aspect of the interference — the social media operation by a Russian entity known as the IRA — the Senate report suggested that the 2017 intelligence assessment’s judgment was, if anything, understated.


Now, to that whiny tweet you embedded. The lead story and image on July 25th was one we can agree is much more worthy than this terrible president wasting everyone’s time rehashing a deceitful accusation his own party refuted during his own presidency many years ago because he just can’t be a MAN and admit that he spent time with a terrible human being many years ago and as a result make have been in the proximity of some terrible things —



Make that both the NYTimes and WaPost on July 25th. Meanwhile the zombie hordes can think about everything BUT the kind of global leadership that actually made this country exceptional — the fact that children are literally being starved to death for all the world to see and this administration can think of nothing to say about it this week while railing about a) A president who exited office 8 years ago b) a professional sports team mascot that nobody had given a damn about since RG3 was an MVP candidate c) College athletes being paid under the same kind of scheme that this same damn president felt as suitable for him to receive a commercial jetliner from a foreign regime d) releasing the classified files on MLK because….

FWIW, both you and @gator_jo assume I have taken a stance on this story. I have not yet taken a stance, but I might in time as I analyze what is out there. What I do know is communist countries black out news stories when it is convenient for the one party communist regime that controls the press. We all know the one party the legacy press serves in this country, and it is not the one in the White House right now. I only commented on two major newspapers blacking out reporting on a story that should have been on the front page the next day. There are no excuses for not having a story on the front page by July 24th. They could have at least had a brief summary or recap of the claims. Then they could have followed up the next day with more detailed reporting about why they disagreed with it. Blacking out coverage of a story of that magnitude, even for one day, reeks of running interference for the parties implicated in the allegations.

 

So you want the media to run a story saying, "Donald Trump said a bunch of likely inaccurate things likely to deflect attention away from a growing scandal, but we will let you know more about that tomorrow?" And that should literally be the top story in the world that day. You know, for accuracy...
