Like a neighbor who lets his lawn grow a foot high and finally cuts it. “Great job! Keep it up”.
You're speaking to someone who is of the opinion there's a lot of waste in government.
Perhaps this is a good thing.
Regardless.....I don't understand the tie-in of this virus to a budget cut.
You said we finally have a president looking out for the people. He cut the budget for the place that works to control outbreaks like Coronavirus. Now you're giving him credit for working to prevent the virus. Yah dig?
I never said one word about preventing a virus.
You're jumping to conclusions.
So what is this thread about? And how is he looking out for the people?
So after spending the last week in total denial of the Coronovirus, Trump finally acts like he might do something. Hopefully, but I'm thinking the only reason he is even acting is because of the market fall and the possiblity of triggering a recession. The market lost 1.7 Trillion dollars in two days. The estimated loss for China is already at 60 Billion and growing, and the global estimate cost is over a trillion. Trumpistas want to spend 3.8 Billion on a boondoggle wall, but balk at a mere 8.5 billion to avoid a potential pendemic in America? That is only 8.5% of Trump's trillion diollar deficit. Is that really much to ask for to help avoid potential disaster?
“President Trump’s press conference was certainly intended to be a confidence builder but I don’t believe it will have much impact on stocks,” said Kristina Hooper, chief global market strategist at Invesco. “The drop in futures illustrates that words from politicians are meaningless.”
U.S. Stock Futures Drop as Trump Fails to Assuage Virus Concerns
Ooops. I only have a masters in Math, so what do you expect
So he tried to make it all about politics and blame Pelosi. What a awful potus.
I triple checked so as not to look like an ass
But you claimed we finally have a president who looks out for the people. Are you well-informed, or just spouting a partisan inflammatory piece of ?
Exactly! - I'm compelled to laud the president and the federal gov't at this point, as it seems that the scare has been mitigated in the U.S. to this point. But when an obvious Republican honk insists upon stirring the pot by insinuating that past presidents didn't do anything for the people - well frankly, it ruined what was potentially a decent thread for Trump.
The cdc budget was increased to fight Zika and Trump cut the funding back to where it was before Zika. He is slime but not as slimy as not looking at budgets.
I believe Trump made similar CDC budget cut proposals while we were still fighting Zika.
Public health officials fear Trump budget cuts in fight against Zika virus
Better hope there’s no outbreak here, since a good chunk of our medical ingredients and goods come from China. What could possibly go wrong there?
Coronavirus outbreak in China could lead to 'critical' shortages of medical products in the US - CNN
Nice try but his calling out of Pelosi was in response to a question by the press he turned around on the reporter that asked him for a response to Pelosi saying he did not know what he was doing and couldn't be trusted.
It’s about his re-election. Which is tied directly to the performance of the stock market.
you think trump gives two shits about pacifying the coranivirus related fears of the average Joe? LMAO
So weird that Trump didn’t make a prime time speech about Zika to calm down all the hysterical would be mothers.
It’s almost as if he doesn’t really give a shit about pacifying American fears and there is really just an ulterior motive for this grandstanding.
He is an absolutely atrocious human being and an even worse president. God help us.
