The looters I’d bet in most cases don’t even give a shit about the politics or what is being protested, but just jump at an opportunity when they see one.

One of the craziest scenes I recall from those Floyd protests was an upscale looking mall getting looted on live TV. Not aerial footage or cell phone video, but literally a local TV news anchor covering the scene with looters running wild in the background. Probably took about 10 minutes on-air for police to arrive in any numbers (and who knows how long it was going on before that). I think that was a case of them showing “overwhelming force” against protests but leaving other parts of the city totally undefended.

How could you tell? Was it the two different 2020 dates shown twice at the top of the article, or the BLM protests referenced in the first sentence?

"While exact totals vary by operation, recent ICE operations in Los Angeles (2025) have resulted in hundreds of arrests, with a significant portion—often over 50%—having criminal convictions or charges. These include serious offenses like murder, sexual assault, drug trafficking, and assault with deadly weapons."

If most were over 50% they would say it and give a percentage, but they don’t. Wordsmithing is an art

That's eight serious felons out of 239 apprehensions since the ICE operation in LA had begun in June. In other words for each serious criminal arrested, 30 undocumented immigrants whose only "crime" was undocumented presence in the US were taken into custody including a significant percentage who were gainfully employed taxpayers with families.

Is that why Kennedy sent the guard into Oxford? People were dying in great numbers?

You would hear open discussion about those two losers using rhetoric to agitate the situation if you would get off the MSNBC and join the real world.

I would add that the numbers only include those taken into custody in the recent operation in Los Angeles. Just a guess but if all illegals taken into custody over the last couple of months are included the percentage that are serious criminals apprehended by ICE is probably even lower.

Accurately rephrasing, the tweet should read "Do the 7 Supreme Court justices still think it's a good idea to block the President from exceeding his statutory authority?"

I would also add that the issue isn't whether the President has the authority to apprehend and deport illegal aliens. He has that authority and has been utilizing it on a massive scale. The issue is whether he can use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport aliens without due process when the US is not at war and there hasn't been an invasion. The only other times that statute has been utilized has been in the War of 1812 and World Wars I and II.

In that case the guard was federalized because the state REFUSED to follow the law. The state was led by a segregationist who refused to protect black students. So the national guard was needed to protect the civil rights of students who the racists (including those in the state govt) would prefer to intimidate or keep in their “separate” schools. Hell, there wasn’t even a Dept of Education back then. I guess you are bitter about civil rights being enforced, but this is a highly odd apples vs oranges thing to get hung up on considering the different historical context.

In this case the Feds have jurisdiction. It’s not a matter of CA enforcing or not enforcing the law as they have no role in enforcing federal immigration law. However, we do have an entire department of the Federal govt whose job it actually is enforce immigration laws. It’s more about allocation of resources and the notion that our military does not engage in domestic police actions. The funny thing is apparently the whole reason for this escalation is because the administration was lagging behind Biden’s deportation numbers. That’s what happens when you get hung up on quotas.

How do you characterize J6? The way I see it, if shoot to kill was ever justified, protecting the Vice President and Congress from those with the stated goal of overthrowing the government would definitely qualify.

No, it is about getting rid of the immigrants who entered this country illegally. Biden opened the borders and the recent election was a clear mandate that the American people wanted the borders closed and the illegals sent home.

In this case, Trump is doing exactly what the majority of people in this country wanted to be done. Obviously, criminals and gang bangers are the priority but if you are in this country illegally, it’s time to go home.

In many countries that j6 mob would have been mowed down. Fortunately that was not the outcome here.
