Trump to deploy National Guard in response to Los Angeles immigration protests

They impose curfews so they can declare peaceful protests unlawful and disperse people at an arbitrary deadline. Its clear who's never been involved in protesting, ever. We had a curfew downtown in 2020, and that was always the point where cops would start kettling people and making arrests, not even giving people a chance to disperse peacefully in some cases.

 

They linked a bunch of misinformation on reddit yesterday to some bots. Interesting for sure.

 

Trump has turned his attention to domestic issues, seeing as how his foreign record has been abysmal. Promise to end Russian-Ukraine conflict--fail. Annexation of Canada or Greenland--fail. Israel- Palestinian conflict resolution (Gaza gentrification as well) --fail.

The reason you bring in the National Guard and Marines early is to minimize casualties and looting. The NG was brought in too late during the 1992 Rodney King riots and dozens died

 

Already been debunked. Trump claimed they talked Sunday. Newsom denied that. Trump provided "proof" in the form of a call that took place late Friday night pacific time which Newsom had already talked about publicly and did not include any discussion about national guard.

 

I know it's pretty naive to expect it, but it'd be nice if every issue didn't have to start off with so many falsehoods and misrepresentations.

Do you really think Trump is motivated by the desire to prevent fatalities?
I think he did it because:

1. He wants to throw his weight around and show whose boss
2. Stephen Miller demanded more deportations
3. It's California.
4. Red meat for the MAGA masses.
5. Distraction from tariffs, Musk mess, increasing deficit and decreasing
ratings.

These are in no particular order. Having never seen a humanitarian bone in Trump's body, I think he gives exactly zero cares about fatalities.

I would add the Fox (not and never was) News keeps replaying the same clip of the burning Waymo vehicle implying that numerous vehicles are being set on fire on a large scale (a total of five vehicles were vandalized in that manner) and that the vandalism was widespread rather than being confined to a very small area.

Los Angeles is probably the most progressive city in the USA and a huge melting pot. You’re right, I’m sure all those people who voted against Trump 3 times are just thrilled with his abuse of power and using I.C.E. to deport many of those in their community they’ve grown close to over the years. Tell me you’ve never been to LA without telling me.

Hell, Arnold was a conservative, and even he can’t stand Trump. Although for being a conservative governor he was extremely progressive in many of his policies and actions.

Most just want a certain normalcy returned to the country.
