Would be great for this nation if they did. Would be nice to see a number of people from both sides of the aisle opposing something with potentially disastrous results.

Title says no one wants the wall? Millions of folks want the wall and I don't care who pays for it...as long as we close the border down the best we can.

LOL ... are you following this at all? Neither the Senate nor the House will pass funding, and didn't even when both branches were control by the republicans. The Republican Senate has long been expected to vote against Trump's emergency, as well, if McConnell ever grows the balls to hold the vote.

As for Millions of people wanting it ... so what? These are leaders they picked. It's a republic, not a democracy.

Immigration was the central argument of the 2018 midterm elections and it was slapped down by a 9M vote margin against.

    And then there's Fox

Lou Dobbs calls on every Republican that votes against Trump's national emergency to be "absolutely removed from office"

The wall isn't the best we can do. It's an ineffective method. And we don't want to close down the border. We want to secure the border. But securing the border is impossible as long as we fail to address the drivers of migration. Half-baked policy is only making the problem worse.

If memory serves correct, R. Reagan asked Mr. Gorbachev to tear down a wall, and it seemed to come out OK.

Natural born narcissistic liars cheaters and thieves with an ability to break the law without impunity are pretty scary. No matter what "ism" or party they use as cover. That's why we lock our doors at night.

The Senate voted today 59-41 to end the emergency. That's 12 R Senators who broke away from Trump and voted against the emergency for wall funding. Not enough to override a veto, but not an insignificant number either.

Even if Trump uses the veto, the emergency declaration will be held up in court for a long time.

Trump's base will be happy with his heroic efforts to defeat the liberals, and Ann Coulter will stop calling him mean names. The veto is an irrelevant piece of theatre.

There are some speculation that Ted Cruz would vote against Trump, because Ted pretends to be someone who cares about the constitution. I guess not so much.

Call me cynical, but on the Senate voting to override trump's emergency I suspect they get together and have a conversation something like this:

Who here needs to vote against this because you're from a relatively liberal state? Okay, you guys go ahead and vote against it. When trump vetos it, we aren't going to override the veto anyways, so no real harm done to trump's attempt to build this wall. These meaningless votes of yours should help you come election time. What's next?
