You absolutely did. You just tried to be cute about it. If I said you were carrying water for Hamas, you would claim I said you supported Hamas.

Crime may have increased in DC over the last few years, due in some part to the post-pandemic crime wave that occurred everywhere. But it appears to be on the decline now. And it's still vastly lower than it was 30 years ago. And none of it warrants an authoritarian takeover by the federal government.

Nonsense. When you have youth gangs beating people on the street like that and constant carjackings and the rest something needs to be done. The local govts in these big cities just push PC nonsense and usually just give minor sentences for serious crimes. FL was letting the youth get away with stuff like this a lot in the early 90s and then they got the crazy idea they would start robbing tourists at gunpoint (identified by license plates that gave the rental car status away back then) killing some of them making national news headlines. FL then brought the hammer down with better policing and started giving real sentences and it cleaned things up a lot for some years afterwards.

No, it has increased due to policies the DC City council enacted and refuses to address. As long as that continues, DC is going to keep having the same issues.

BTW, when Fenty was mayor, the city was much safer. It got to the point where there were people in Anacostia complaining about gentrification since middle class people were starting to buy homes there before the financial crash. Fenty was forced out as mayor because he was not far enough left for Democrats and he lost in the primary. Democrats need to plead with him to come back and run again. Not sure if he will do it since he is living the good life with Steve Jobs widow.

So why is it decreasing now if the policies haven't been addressed. Crime was down significantly in 2024 from 2023. And crime in 2025 is down further still.

Military occupation of a city because some dumbass got beat up by children at 3am is the ultimate PC feelings driven nonsense. Is the National Guard going to parent some wayward teens?

You were saying about the statistics?

A DC Police Sergeant Exposed Her Superiors for Misclassifying Crimes To Make Stats Look Low. The City Just Quietly Settled Her Lawsuit.

This is a city that just re-elected a council member that is facing bribery trial next January and has a Police Chief that did not know what the Chain of Command was. Do you think they really are not afraid to cook the books on crime statistics?

I get that you do not want to believe me and things probably seem fine from Reston but for those of us that are in the district a good bit, it is not safe as has been in the past. There is a reason Joe Scarborough is reading text from Liberal Democrats in the DC saying that they are fine with this happening.

So you're saying they're cooking the books. I know you're not MAGA, but that's kind of a MAGA thing to do. You figure they're covering up murders too, misclassifying them as misdemeanors? DC murders in 2024 were down 32% from 2023. And in 2025 they're down another 11% YTD from 2024. I'm gonna go with actual facts and data over your anecdotes on this one.

I do not think you can misclassify murders but you can misclassify other crimes, which is what the article I provided clearly shows DC police have been doing for a while. I just provided you with documents that were provide in the course of legal proceedings that show it. Are you saying that is not happening?

Do you think Trayon White would have any problems asking the Chief of the MPD to cook the crime statistics in his ward if he has no problem taking over $100k in bribes?

Do you think Joe Scarborough is lying about what he is being texted by Liberals living in DC?

You do not have to be MAGA to be suspicious of the people that run DC.

Well you'd think a big reduction in murders would correlate to a reduction in other violent crimes as well and that's what the data shows.

There is a lot of faulty logic in there. Just because the murder rate went down does not mean all violent crime went down. And it is hard to trust the data when the MPD has a documented history of cooking the books.

Again, do you think Joe Scarborough is lying about what he is being told by his Liberal Friends living in DC?

Let see if maybe we can agree on this, I'll concede that the crime rate likely has gone down since its highs in '22 or '23. If you will concede that a lot of that crime is now taking place in areas of DC that it did not use to take place. The abundance of eBikes and eScooters have allowed those people wanting to commit crimes to areas of DC they typically had a harder time getting to in the past.

Love that military occupation is presented as sensible anti-crime policy, these people are so stupid. Whatever the murder rate is, what is the argument that making FBI guys walk the national mall impacts homicide rates? And if the idea is that armed military presence scares people into not doing crime, is the idea that the troops will just be there forever? And beyond those questions, its flagrantly un-American! Its shit the British Empire did to the colonies!
