So if a white individual says that to a white latino…..it's racist?
Some RE developers have a tendency to feel that way based on my 30+ years of professional experience dealing with them and QC departments. But I guess my flawed elementary school education--and University of Florida education--have failed me in the ability to tell what is right and wrong. 1+1=2 is right, 1+1=number we need to close this deal is wrong. . That's what those morons at QC think, so it cannot be true. Oh, and 2008 didn't happen.
There is no such thing as a white Latino.
You know whats silly? Having to make up something that didn't happen to 'prove' whatever your point is.
It could be, yes!
Well maybe not white, but certainly Caucasian.
And you talk about silliness
Someone sees a guy with light-brownish skin, they tell him to "go back to Mexico" based on his appearance because he sees "non-white" … the guy self-identifies as white and Hispanic on the census. Definitely racist man. Ignorant too. Not mutually exclusive things.
He does target others, all the time. He just never tells (as far as I know) anyone else to go back where they came from. That particular rant was reserved for 4 ladies of color. Don't tell me there's not a racial component at work here.
Race is a man-made construct. Racism is a catch-all for any action a person takes that attempts to denigrate another based on skin color, religion, creed, culture, or anything that makes the target different than the person taking the racist action. If two, lighter-skinned people were speaking Spanish and a person told them to go back to where they came from, that's racism. Because the act of telling someone to leave is based on a difference, in this case, language, which is cultural, and the action is to tell those different people they do not belong in this country.
Agree. @channingcrowderhungry made a good point about those of us that support certain policies. It is a democratic strategy to paint us all as bigots and racist.
The goal is to scare people from voting again. (A tactic that both sides use on different points). It is much more complicated than talking point memo's want us to believe.
I will always vote for the person with the greatest chance to swing the SCOTUS in the direction that my moral compass guides me.
Frankly they are all pandering dirtbags for the most part, but I have to vote based on something that matters deeply to me.
There's another Trump Rally tonight. It's about time! I'm sure that Trump will clear up any doubts on anything that's hateful, insulting, and false. That's his bag!
But if at the root of someone saying "go back to your own country" is because the person told to do so is unhappy here or constantly complaining or is seeking to undermine and transform it, then it's not based on any other denigration than if you're not happy here....go back to where you came from
As long as you don't break any standards of practice (and I'm still trying to figure out exactly what those are) don't make any factual errors (sounds like it should be a clear term but it's not), and don't do anything unethical in your determination, that's all QC cares about.
not a very high or consistent standard....
Sorry, I almost fell over.....are you being serious?
Nah, the root of it is that some people have the privilege to complain and demand change and some don't.
or it could be the change that they're advocating for
by the way, democratic socialism/communism was a plan created by old white men (germans even)....and I still don't like it
and as someone who is married to Latina, it doesn't make it sound any better when a Latina espouses it.
Same thing really. Someone's deciding their complaining or demands are legitimate and others aren't, and they must be unhappy and should "leave the country."
Leaving a location when you're unhappy is a trademark of human existence since the beginnings.....all of the sudden now it's "racist" to advise as much?
Republicans go into Congress all the time because they hate the idea of federal government and wish to neuter it. Why shouldn't they be the ones to "go home"?
