Plus $119 Billion in additional spending on national defense. In the end, this budget, if passed would likely increase the national debt.

And that is before they attempt to cut taxes.

I have stuff to say but need to find a real article first.

this is not a budget cut it is a reprioritization of spending that will result in an increased budget deficit.

We are not serious about cutting federal spending unless we are going to get serious and slash the military by at least $500B and the intelligence community by another $500B - $1T in off budget spending. Otherwise, this is nothing but what it appears to be, war on Trumps enemies and opponents and nothing more.

Why would we need to increase military spending if we're heading towards isolationism and no longer supporting our allies to the same extent?

I can't figure if the $163 billion in cuts is the net difference or if it's $163 billion in cuts to non defense programs combined with $119 billion in increased defense spending (meaning the net difference is $44 billion in cuts). Does anyone know?

It’s just his proposal of what he would like to see in the FY26 budget. It’s up to congress to come up with the actual budget and pass it.

Consider who created this budget. Trump and his team probably don't even know the answer to your question and you will lose brain cells trying to figure it out

Absolutely hilarious. $163 billion is approximately 2.3% of the federal budget. And we'll lose far more revenue than that due to the certain tax cuts, and lost revenue collection due to gutting the IRS.

We'll know that Trump is serious about cutting spending when he proposes a legitimate version of the Grand Bargain (look it up, OP).

In the meantime, Trump is doing nothing, and his supporters are content to accept basically doing nothing as ..... "a start." :)

It's almost like Trump only wanted to get elected to stay out of prison, give himself a big tax cut, and enable massive opportunities to grift. Who could have ever predicted that?
