Trump announces cease fire between Iran and Israel (to be phased in over the next 24 hours)

I don’t a have belief system where I think that what I hope happens has an impact on what actually happens. I certainly don’t hope for the war to continue, but I reserve the right to be skeptical.

It is a tough how to view these things. You see Trump trying to overthrow elections, DOGE gutting programs that literally save thousands (even millions long term), RFKjr actively gutting vaccination programs, aid withheld from Ukraine, etc etc. and it becomes difficult to process all of this. You have to become a bit jaded and step back and admit you can’t control it, and people around you who voted for this clown are responsible, and there is little you can do but watch things fall apart.

So it is pretty natural to see him want to fail given the damage he has done and continues to do - because success means we get more of the same. So where do you draw he line on where failure is a net good and failure is a net bad?

Right back at you. I felt this way for 4 years during the Biden Office of the Presidency Administration. I did not see what I thought to be one good thing in 4 years.

Reacting to Trump has gone from protesting to riots and insurrection on a daily basis by the democratic party. Violence is the name of the game 24/7. Surely a levelheaded person like yourself cannot support what is going on in response to our elected president and the job he was elected to do.

There are places where I agree or disagree on issues, which happens with every president. However this time around with Trump some of the things he has tried to do, and has even done, I view as being an existential crisis.

The difference is while I mostly supported Biden, I certainly criticized him on policies I disagreed with, and also said he shouldn’t run again earlier than most. With you however, it is all 100% cheerleading one side, one team.

While there is a lot to criticize Biden over I didn’t see most of it as beyond the normal back and forth of typical policy disagreements. For those of you who view Biden’s term the way I view Trump, I can only assume it is the partisan information bubble you live in that fictionalizes and catastrophizes normal everyday issues, but you do you.

There is an ongoing genocide in Gaza, S Lebanon is being reduced to rubble, and Israel just took out a significant % of Iranian military leadership and Scientific brain-trust in a sneak attack. Not to mention recently cleaning out Assad's group in Syria. Then Trump drops MOAB's or something similar on three Iranian sites.

How ANYONE seriously believes that the Shia's that dominate Iran and their Shia proxies in other Middle Eastern countries are just going to go: Oh the American President says a 2,400 year conflict is over now, after "Pearl Harboring" Iran, well, those who believe that are DELUDING themselves.

Iran may want a break and will acquiesce to a temporary cease fire agreement, for a while, to plot revenge and to negotiate with Pakistan, Russia and China for military equipment, but if you don't think there has not already been a call for "jihad" against Israel and the USA, well...... I beg to differ. This story is FAR from over. Study history.

I'm not saying I want that, no I don't, but I'm not oblivious to the facts or as stupid as certain officials making idiotic policy decisions.
