You cannot make this stuff up. Parler is partnering with a Russian company to try to stay alive. Please note in paragraph 3 the discussion on how Russian internet companies had to install software to feed copies of all network traffic to the Russian FSB. Parler Tries to Survive With Help From Russian Company
You sure? Russia often has a very different definition of what a “private company” means. In this case, at the very least it appears to mean the Parler user data could now be an open book to the Russian govt. One of Parker’s supposed attractions was that they didn’t monetize and sell your data to marketers like Facebook and Twitter do. Except now they transfer user data, but the entity taking the data will be the Russian Govt instead of people looking to sell you something.
Isn't this basically the same issue that had Trump stirred up about TikTok - the Chinese gov had access to the user info?
It's OK if they become pawns of the FSB (many probably already are), as long as they feel they are "owning the libs".
