Trump- “We have a buyer for TikTok

It is worth noting that we are allowing a totalitarian communist regime to write a social media algorithm that chooses the social media content consumed by our youth. This is a totalitarian regime that is also killing Americans through smuggling fentanyl into our country. A hostile regime in a state of cold war against our country should not have such massive control over an algorithm that chooses what the youth sees and does not see. That is a big problem:

Because it’s a Beijing-based company, there’s broad agreement that the Chinese Communist Party wields control over Bytedance. And Douyin has proven a perfect domestic propaganda tool: a direct line of communication with China’s youth to pump out pro-social and pro-China messages.

Perhaps that’s why Chinese kids are shooting for the stars while American kids are shooting for virtual stardom. The most popular career ambition among American youth is an influencer. In China it’s an astronaut.

“It’s almost like they recognize that technology is influencing kids’ development, and they make their domestic version a spinach version of TikTok, while they ship the opium version to the rest of the world,” former Google employee and Center for Humane Technology founder Tristan Harris told “60 Minutes.”

While Bytedance is careful to socially engineer positive outcomes for its country’s own kids, it’s equally capable of devising negative outcomes in rival nations — which is precisely why experts have dubbed TikTok “a dagger pointed at the heart of the United States.”​

China is hurting US kids with TikTok, but protecting its own

Say what you want, but the algorithm was a form of warfare against our country. If Trump twisted China's arm to change the algorithm, then that might be a good thing.

 

By "we" you mean Donald Trump, of course.

Based on his past behavior and criminality, we can be close to certain he's allowing this either because they're bribing him or they're manipulating the algorithm in his favor.

 

I simply mean our country is allowing it, and there are several people who have been involved in allowing it including DJT. Trump is trying to negotiate a deal where a Chinese company sells it to a US company. So, he either needs to get the deal done or kick Tik Tok out of the US.
