By threatening them, Trump has already abused the power of his office for favorable statements wrt TikTok. It really was just a big bait and switch.

Many TikTok users have said the whole threat was just to get TikTok to change their algorithm .... and that they did.

In other words, just more abuse of office from Trump, that real Americans would find unethical and patently objectionable. If not criminal.

There is an excellent chance that the perspective buyer of TikTok also happens to be large donor to Trump's 2024 campaign.

 

Any and all criticism or skepticism of Trump, even in topics about him, is TDS according to the cult. You can’t reason with these people.

And the TikTok algorithm has already changed in favor of Trump positive news, so this isn’t new.

 

I think we do a disservice by calling it TDS because it creates a dichotomy between Trump and humanity. The question is what would we call this behavior if any other human being was treated this way? If this behavior was directed at a mod or another poster on this forum we would rightfully call it "gossip" and "slander."

 

Is this a direct attack on a poster by a moderator? What happened to “lowering the temperature” around here?

 

Perhaps you should become more aware of the laws about commenting on public vs. private figures?

And perhaps I'm mistaken, but i seem to see indications that it's officially acceptable here to make unsolicited comments about certain posters ..... if they don't support Donald Trump.

 

Side stepping the legal question, not all things that are immoral or unethical are illegal, including gossip and slander. When someone gossips or slanders against someone else the only way to really address it in the context of a discussion is to take it head on and call the nature of the claim/accusation what it really is. Words can be gossip or slander. Someone who speaks words of gossip or slander is a gossiper or a slanderer. It might be against the rules to call another poster a gossiper, a slanderer, or to say they have TDS, but you could call the words on the page gossip, slander, or TDS-rambling. That is completely valid since it addresses the substance of an argument rather than simple name calling.

 

What do you call it when you change your morals to support and defend every Trump action? Worship

 

I don't know who this post is aimed at, but I know very few people who defend every Trump action. That is not a description of anyone I know IRL, and there are only a few people on this forum it possibly applies to.
