Good news, is that allowed?
Is it 2021, yet?
Great news. I thought Tre really started to turn the corner later in the year. Defensively he was much improved (still not great, but serviceable). I liked him with the ball in his hands and he has a very high ceiling. I think the faster tempo will really help him this upcoming season.
After the season ended, if you told me that KJ, Lewis and Mann were all returning and we're only losing Nembhard I'd be ecstatic. Excited for the upcoming season whenever the season starts.
14 players, including Klatsky. Who here thinks that White can handle that many players in a positive way?
I'll be the contrarian and the last hopeful lol, but I will say I do. Hell, I'm a fan, I'm always going to look for the best in my teams. CMW teams have given us some really good times and some really bad head-scratching times.
Maybe the Nembhard move, transfer additions, continued player growth, and freshman infusion works for this squad.
I understand he will be heavily viewed under the microscope next year (and he should be!!). But I'm still hopeful that he's young, still learning, and can put a really good program together.
What exactly do you mean?
Divvying up minutes equitably?
Rotating lineups? Having logical lineups?
What’s your complaint?
In the past, at least my observation: CMW seems to get *everyone* possible Some p.t. Early in the season. Then, like most coaches, shortens the bench as the season progresses. I’m guessing next season will be no different.
Players that prove themselves, especially in crunch time, will be relied upon.
Mann has a high upside and with Appleby and Locke give us three solid guards returning. Klatsky is a walk-on and we’ll see if he can earn minutes and hopefully Glover has improved to the point where he can provide positive minutes. In the front court, Castleton may or may not be eligible. If he indeed is, perhaps Jitoboh, especially if he hasn’t dropped some weight or the JUCO Osifo may redshirt.
The numbers will work out and in the meantime, let’s just be happy Mann decided to return.
not unexpected but still great news. Hope this process has helped him in the long run, and we see a BIG sophomore jump from him...if there's a season of course
And then came...
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
Damn C-19. Where is my bottle of Jack Black?
always close in hand i hope...
In two years with Nembhard at the helm, Florida played at the 344th and 326th fastest adjusted tempos, according to KenPom. Two years earlier, Florida ranked 117th in adjusted tempo.
Mann, Glover, Appleby=A move out of the 300’s to the low 100’s. Can you imagine 326 and 344?? And I watched every game I could. Can’t wait to see a faster (anything is faster) pace and pushing up the court with athletes like KJ, Scottie, s and Tre.
How do y'all think Tre will be used? SG primarily? PG primarily? Combo guard or play the three in a small lineup? I know some of these are outliers, but I'm just trying to lay out the options. In the thread on our starting five, I placed him as the starter at the two. I know that's a reach with Locke in play, but I'm optimistic that Tre indeed shows a big sophomore jump.
Either Glover or Appleby will start at PG, but Tre will see time there. Most of his minutes will be at the 2, but he's competing with Locke there for the starting spot. At this time, Locke has the clear edge. But who knows? Tre may turn out to be too good not to start. Certainly he has a higher ceiling than Locke.
