Per NY Times sports reporting and another gator website.

I see this as good news and his development may give this program a great lift.
The negative is the expectations surrounding him are very high and as of now he's not meeting these expectations. Its very tough on some young men. Got to give him some space to grow on and off the court.(And no I'm not saying he has issues off the court)

Not so fast. Tre’s tweet from 1 hour ago:
“There has been a recent release of misinformation, I’m not sure who or where it came from but at this time, I have not made a decision on what I will be doing for my future. I am still going through the draft process at this time. Thanks for the support Go Gators!!!”

Which is probably what is proper to say when you are awaiting analysis from NBA folks.

If a half-hearted Gator, please go. The D league awaits Mann as he is clearly not ready mentally or physically for the NBA.

Give me unselfish team-first Gators who want to hit the court with 110% effort every time they step on the floor. Billy Donovan won with this type of player for years. Mike White will too.

Yeah, I know, Come On Man! Tough, it's the way I feel after watching ball hogs not wanting to play the up tempo/pressure defense White system the last 2 years.

This program, in general, can't have many easy days...
Eric could probably write a Longggg story on AN and TM at this point.

A apologize to all for jumping the gun and wanting to be the first to start a thread on this one, I don't start many threads and this is exhibit A why!! In time I see him coming back and growing on and off the court.

I agree with a Lot of your post. Not sure the D league would be what he needs at this point. You've got to have an internal strength and want to grow in that environment and Tre may not flourish in this. Just my opinion and outsider take.

Just hope he makes the right decision for him and his family. He needs to grow up, this little saga shows this.

    Go Gators!!

    A few things to consider.

Billy D always said the biggest improvement is from freshman to sophomore seasons.
How does he like school? How is he doing academically?
Would he be better under the full time tutelage of professional coaches or the limited time he can practice in college.

Eric stated on the Insider's board that he may have received erroneous info which is what his article was based on.

Why is the article still on the front page if the "facts" may be suspect?

Speaking of Tre....were the rumors true that he would play fantastic in practice? But, alas, the performance wouldn’t translate to real games....?

any notion what was happening here?

what can he do to have the play occur in real games? Is it a matter of getting comfortable; letting the game come to him? Maybe practice more in the Odome, too?

I liken Trey to the drag racers I saw at the Gatornationals one year:

Lots of firepower, but if not controlled, the vehicle quickly runs right off the course. If pointed in the right direction, the result is amazing. There's a fine line.

I think I'm the only poster on the board who prefers the one-and-done rule to letting high school players go straight to the NBA. But, once players are in a position to go pro, I have no problem with them exploring all their options, and I don't think it makes them any less of a Gator. I hope Tre returns, but I have no problem with what he's doing.

Well this is not exactly what most expected...AN transferring and Mann returning (assuming it's true).
