espn is posting a stat that says trask’s qbr drops to 3.5 when under pressure.

Is he really that bad when pressed? Or just hasn’t been pressed much? I haven’t noticed except a few times when he held the ball too long and fumbled or almost fumbled.

Where? I’ve heard it was Nix that has the issue under pressure.

Small sample skew for Trask, I'd imagine. We really don't know what he is overall in that regard. Not enough data.

First they have a small sample size and second did they say where he ranks overall compared to other quarterbacks under pressure. And then I would like their definition of pressure. Is coming off the bench down and away from home and scoring 19 unanswered points a good display of handling pressure?

Someone else posted that Nix’ QBR drops to 5 when pressured, so maybe it’s both.

Regardless, getting to Trask has to be Auburn’s priority. Our receivers are too good to cover them all for an extended time.

They were talking about Nix, weren't they? They said Nix had the lowest QBR in the nation (5) when under pressure so there is no way Trask could be at 3.5.

We will find out this afternoon, which qb can handle the pressure. I expect both defenses to blitz a lot.

yes, i heard that also. But they were showing the Trask number in the sidebar. Maybe i misread it. Or maybe it doesn't count in a national ranking due to lack of data (less than X attempts or something).

Guess we'll learn more today! Go Gators!

Trask has to do a better job of throwing the ball away or securing the football when the pocket breaks down. It took Franks a long time to learn that lesson but we don't have time for Trask to keep making those mistakes.

He’s still way ahead of Franks in that regard

He does need to improve under pressure. I know the guy is not a runner but there have been a few times since he came in where a few steps in one direction could give him the ability to move down the field for a few yards and he just stood there and took a sack.

It seems Mullen has been conservative with the runs. Makes sense.
I'd love to see Trask run more today and it make a difference.

Right because they say Nix is the athletic runner and there’s the opportunity for Trask to turn that around.

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm, but KT does not have some athleticism that has been hiding for three years that is going to be discovered today.

Not sarcasm. Last season Trask was inserted late and ran for a TD. TBT I suspected Trask was as good or better a starter. So far is looking that way. I don’t know how CDM can scheme it but if there’s open space Trask can and should run. Our QBs are big but I do not like Mullen’s QB draw plays into the teeth of a defense. I think he can do a lot better than that. What I meant was that the story of the game should be that they highlighted Nix’ running ability but that it turned out it was Trask, the UF QB, whose feet made the difference.

However they end up writing the article that proclaims the Gators victorious I am for it, but I have difficulty imagining a scenario where the o line has opened up so much room that KT can run into open space. I hope the o-line can keep him up long enough to throw.

On a pass play where dline is coming hard and lbs are in coverage there could be open space for KT to run. Not much imagination required. I like it better than backing into a sack-fumble.

Can't be much worse than Peyton's qbr when he played us.
