Well, a week into camp, and I still haven't heard about transfers coming in.
Did the Gators land any transfers?
Tired of seeing UF depleted of numbers...it seems every year we have crazy attrition so we have no depth where as all the other SEC teams have no problem keeping 85 scholarship athletes ready to go.
Most teams are not at 85. Bama and UGA I believe just had two players enter portal.
Yes, we’re lower than expected, but I think the days of achieving 85 are long gone (until changes are made).
It's pretty much self imposed sanctions with reduced scholarship numbers. Do I want to be shady like bama and use grey shirts, over signing, etc...no. but I do want us to be more efficient and have a full 85 schollie roster.
What’s the odds we kick the tires on the Cox kid that is transferring from ga. He’s a local kid here and he’s supposed to be the goods albeit possibly an idiot depending on why the vacuum cleaner kicked him off the team. Just wondering
Five star lb just radioed Scotty
Methinks you uncovered a major truth in the second part of your post.
Probably preseason all SEC.
Your correct. Most programs have 80-85 on ship. May see a couple here or there under 85 due to transfers but not at 76-77 like us.
Just ruled Steele can play this year. I’m curious to find out exactly what a player would have to do to not be ruled eligible for immediate pt when transferring, it’s bigger news when a player has to sit now a days
Absolutely ridiculous that Steele gets a waiver. Seems like the NCAA doesn't want to deal with lawsuits so they are granting waivers for any reason. Just a guess
That’s why players are making up excuses for why they are transferring. Kid was homesick but threw us under the bus with a made up story about how the Jalen Jones situation affected him and requesting a room change just so he could have a reason to be immediately eligible at another school closer to home.
You mean he made it all up and got JJ kicked off our team? SOB we got played.
Made up how JJ's crimes affected him. Steele the opportunist tangentially used that crime to get back to Mom's apron strings. Basically followed the Fields playbook.
Jones deserved his walking papers for his actions.
Might as well just let kids transfer once per year between Dec. 1 and Jan 1. Sit 2 games the first time, and double it each transfer after that. No other restrictions. No waivers. Kill the pretense that there isn't free agency and get on with it.
He made up how it affected him, not what JJ did.
I mean his dad had just tweeted about the "love coach Mullen gives his son" and Steele had one as well about wanting to "get back to the 352" but if it helps pile on Mullen and staff then sure....run with the Mullen mishandled Steeles request.
Brenden Cox? Is he interested in Uf?
