Or those players just still wanted what they came there for which was to win.
What purpose did the espn hit piece serve if he was fired.. What more could Au of done at that point? wasnt espns first AU hit piece(fball, basktball), so maybe Im bias..
Maybe, but JMO, if half as bad as some made it out to be, something would of surfaced earlier.
Rivera had a pretty good career there, but sure has fallen off this year. I really thought UF missed on a talent from Polk County for her first years at AU.
last 2(full) years plus has been pretty anemic. Still cant remember if she was Myer last class or Deans first, but got a feeling would of been a totally different player under the old guy. Very athletic, just never improved at plate,, digressed instead. And now tries to go oppo every AB, so we dont even get the occasional 300 ft pull shot to RF anymore.
Last full season (2019) she hit 333, 10 HR, 18 SB....pretty dang good in the SEC. Was having an even better 2020 before shutdown. This year seems to be the anomaly, career stats are still very impressive.
She faded down stretch in 19 . that second half of that season was when the 1.7 run per game offense started in SEC..lost 11 of 12 to end i think.
Did hit mid major/pre conf pitching well to start 2020, didnt even do that this year. Benched for a 2 week stretch just before SEC began. Not an awful career, just ready for her and Perry to be gone..lve seen enough good or bad. lol
She did hit right at 300 in conference play in 2019......that would still be 4th best on this years UF team. And in 2019 it incredibly would have been 60 points higher than the 3rd best hitter for UF.
Wow, I forgot how bad the hitting was after Lorenz and Lindaman:
Hannah Adams 134
Absolutely brutal, almost comically bad
So awful. I'm fairly sure it was last or second to last in the conference. It is a wonder they made it to the WCWS.
Those numbers look familar..
How many runs per game did that UF offense produce? bet it was more than 2..lol
I certainly prefer good pitching over good hitting in both baseball & softball,, but got to score sometimes.. Lowe has 1.11 ERA and 7 loses lololol
500 in conference play, and almost solely due to pitching and Lorenz/Lindaman. How on earth was Adams that bad?
What stats are those? Adams batted .375 last year. (2020)
We were discussing 2019 conference play
I meant where the team BA finished. Could those have been conference only stats?
Sorry, I was being lazy.
Yeah...I was throwing out conference stats. Was referencing to compare to Rivera, who hit 297 in conference that season.
Transfer addition to the 2022 roster.
Obviously, I hope for the best, but I have a bad feeling about what this transfer pickup says about next years's pitching. As my previous threads have indicated, I think Mike Bosch overachieved with what he had. And now we pick up a transfer who, playing in a much lesser league, has a career record of 45-23 with a 2.72 ERA. Dunno.
Without any claim on having inside information my read on this pickup is nothing more than somewhat local girl (Bushnell) who happens to posses some pitching talent graduates from FGCU and subsequently enrolls into the UF Health Professions Masters program and lets Tim know she is on campus and has a year of eligibility to help out any way she can. It is not clear to me she even has a scholarship? Besides, apparently we have the #2 pitcher and #7 overall ranked HS softballer coming in this Fall. Well at least according to this article:
