"Considered one of the top interior OL in FCS, Paul Grattan of Villanova has entered the portal as a grad transfer. Having played guard and center, Grattan is a preseason All-American; 6'4" 300lbs; PA native."

Reported by Rivals. Might be someone we should go after????? As a grad transfer, available to play right away.

I hope we feel confident in our own guys, especially considering we already got reese.

We tried that once before and FSU's defense ate him for breakfast...

I think we have plenty of young depth, especially inside. We don't have any proven tackles and our youth outside is hopeful

Was he a "W" or was he a "crab"...not sure FSUs defense eats anything anymore.

The Mason Halter experience was not encouraging, but vaguely competent, experienced bodies on the OL aren't to be shunned.

I think there is a much higher priority on the OL to find young OT who can be brought along over time than to take a player for one year where we are the deepest (G and C), who played against weak competition, and who doesn't know our offense, in a year we don't even know will be played. Stewart was the perfect transfer for one year. Wilson as a transfer is a much different story as well at a position of need.

I’m hoping our line has a few new faces from the young guys we brought in last year. If they can’t run block any better than last years group, you throw a flier as far as you can throw it.

I remember him becoming academically inelgible for the bowl game after being here for just a semester, or so.

I would take the kid from UVA over him. Not sure he is still available though.

Our run game last season was the worst in decades; I’ll take anyone that can earn relevant playing this season.

The Mason Halter experience should not determine every decision UF ever makes regarding this class of player. Many of them end up playing in the NFL.

    We're a jaded fanbase.

But seriously, our starting OL should be good this year. Our 2-deep has a lot of question marks, but I'm cautiously optimistic that we can piece together a competent 3-deep out of Delance, Moore, Tarquin, Braun, McDowell, Simonds, Harrod, and Eguakun. Taking this kid (and using the initial counter required) would cause me to worry that my optimism is misplaced.

ont forget Gouridge. And oline is our biggest questionmark and if we gamble, that’s the place to do it.

King Rich, Stone, Stew Reese should be good bookends. Tarquin and Braun were highly regarded 4 stars that should provide depth to the OL. Delance played all last year with a high ankle sprain. He might look much better, if healthy. Let’s see what Savage has done with the youngins in year 2. We’ve got some experience at the Tackle spot this year. Gator roster by position below. We have a lot of freshman and sophomore OL that should be good as juniors and seniors. Just what Hevesy inherited and building up from scratch now.

A graduated player interviewed in a parting shots article on TOS stated that Delance was the most impressive player of winter conditioning. Delance got such a bad rep from agreeing to play injured. His mobility and consequent timing were bad, but we had no options. He was by far our most athletic OL when transferred from Texas. I expect him as a starter or key backup.

Agree, there's a reason he was on the field. I don't think he will ever be a stud, but he can be a very solid contributor
