It’s my understanding one of his roles as to advise what they can and can’t do during engagement. Give credit where credit is due. Not an easy job at a not so fun place.
This is what is sad. Apparently that is a primary criteria now for a Republican leader, to troll “the other side”. It is so petty and childish. Honest to god I just like to see certain things get done, or not done. I’d prefer it to be done with some bipartisan support if possible. I have no particular interest in badgering “the other side”.
It's also not the same thing as fighting in combat alongside the SEALs. Nobody is denigrating DeSantis's service. But let's be honest about what he did. He gave legal advice to the commander of the unit.
I’m on board for that. But for this to be possible, we’ll need to remove many of the leaders from each party. Really need term limits on these assholes.
“I’m the candidate that trolls!” He might be our next Republican nominee with that platform. That’s all the last guy did. No wonder he’s an Ivy Leaguer.
He was on a laptop in an air conditioned room like Mayor Pete and they want to pretend he was Audie Murphy
“Appropriating the honor of others because he has none.” Truer words have not been spoken. The far right has done the same with the flag, the vast majority of whom never served anything but themselves. I was in the military, and seeing our flag flying next to bone spur Trump’s pisses me off royally!
Not a huge DeSantis fan, but if I am not mistaken, he was an officer in the Navy JAG corps, so he has at least done his time in uniform. I do not know about whether or not he was honorable or what, but he did put in some service.
I respect him for that and didn't mean to imply he hadn't served. Doing so in any capacity earns my respect. What I don't respect and, indeed, loath, is his demonizing "corporate media". Like it or not, it is absolutely essential, and to cast aspersions on it is un-American, pandering to the ignorant, and downright scary in one who wants to be president for all the people. Most people like the media - their media.
If you watch the video his service in the navy as a JAG officer is acknowledged and respected. But he’s portraying himself as a navy pilot, not a JAG officer.
