    You know I had to check if that's true, because even if they were going to individually test every thermometer rather a few from each batch it sure seems more likely they'd have a "test bed" set a known temperature than, well, the alternative. And yes, I know it's a joke, but since it was apparently cut out of a newspaper I wondered if it was actually true.

    Turns out its....Fake News. :)

    Not really fake news. Personally tested obviously means that that a person stuck it in a calibration machine to check the temperature reading. The way it's written just prompts gullible people to draw a different conclusion, like all the people that apparently wrote to Snopes about this one. The joke never said they stuck it up their rear, just let you fill in the gaps.
